The Talk

William-

I am finally in pack territory. I can’t wait to talk to the boys and figure out what the hell is going on. When Molly called me I was shocked by what she said to me. 

Flash Back-

I have a meeting with the council in an hour. That should give me enough time to grab some lunch and get my notes together. This pack is a mess and I need to stay here for a few more week I think to get them settled. 

Just as I was about to walk out of the makeshift office that I was in, my phone started ringing. It was Molly, I knew from the ringtone. She had her own special ringtone of The Beatles. 

“Hello, my love.”

“Babe, we have a problem!” s**t, this isn’t good. She never greets me like this. 

“What is wrong? Are you hurt? Where is Rich?

“I am fine but the boys aren’t. Well, one son in particular has lost his mind.”

“What are you talking about?”

“They found their mate. She is a beautiful human girl. She is precious, William. She has the cutest little voice.”

“That’s great! So what is the problem?”

“Sebastian has accepted her immediately. He has already marked and mated with her. She is living here in the pack house but the problem is with Sedrick.”

“Please tell me that he didn’t reject her for Star.” That boy gives me a headache every damn day. 

“Well, he didn’t officially reject her but he did tell her that he would never mark and her shattered her heart with how he did it. He was particularly cruel to her.”

“For f***s sake. I can’t believe that he did that. Well, I can because he is an impulsive i***t but still.”

“I know. He is convinced that Star is the one for him. That she will be the better Luna than a simple human.”

“You have to keep him from marking Star. I will get back home as soon as I can. I have a meeting with the council here in a few minutes so I will try to get them updated.”

“I am sorry that I had to call and tell you all of this. We don’t know what to do. Richard tried to talk to him but it made it worse I fear. We put a three month wait time on marking Star for now.”

“That’s good. I am glad that you two thought of that. Keep me updated. I love you.”

“I love you too, darling.”

I can’t believe that he would be so stupid! What is he thinking?!

Your fated mate is the most important person in the world. He can’t spit in the Goddess’ face like that. She knows what she is doing and we have to respect that. Thank Goddess that Seb accepted her. He has always been more level headed than Sedrick though. 

I might be able to get him to come up here and take over while I go back. He won’t be happy but they need a strong Alpha to straighten everything out. Plus, he may have to step up and be Alpha by himself soon. This will be a good training period for him. 

“Son, I need you to switch places with me so I can come home and talk to your i***t brother.” I know that it is during training times but he should answer my mind link. 

“Is that necessary? I just found my mate.”

“I know but he can’t mark Star and shame us like this.”

“Okay, I will trade with you in four days.”

“Thank you, son. I am sorry that we even have to do this.”

“See you soon, dad.”

Now I need to get home as soon as I possibly can.

End Flash Back

I arrived in front of the house and my Molly and Richard were waiting out front for me. They both broke out in big smiles and I can see the worry disappear from Molly’s face. Just as I stepped out of the car, Seb and his mate walked out the front doors. She was a beautiful girl. I don’t know why Sedrick hadn’t been instantly taken by her. It was clear that Seb was. He held her hand and made sure she didn’t trip down the stairs. I have never seen him with a girl like this before. 

“Dad, this is my mate Astrid!”

“Hello, sir. It’s nice to meet you.” She stuck out her little hand and I swooped her up into a big hug. 

“We do hugs in this family, hun.” That made her laugh and blush. Then I hugged my son, brother, and finally, Molly. “I have missed you so much!”

“I missed you too! She reached up and gave me a gentle kiss on the lips. I hated leaving her. I hope to not have to much anymore now that we have our Luna home. 

“Where is the i***t?”

Molly slapped me on the chest and said, “He is in his office.”. 

I followed them in and went to the office. I didn’t bother knocking at all. Sedrick was in his office but he also had Star in there too. She was sitting on the desk like she owned the place. 

“Dad! I dint know you would be home so soon.” Sedrick got up to come hug me. It was great to see him even though I am highly disappointed in him. 

“It’s nice to be home son but I had to come home early because of your actions. Let’s talk about this.” I pointed my finger around the room so he would understand. 

“Star, could you give us a few minutes?”

She got up and walked out of the room with a huff. Her perfume is extremely overwhelming to me. I wanted to cough but I didn’t want to embarrass her. 

“What is going on? Why aren’t you mated to that adorable little human?”

“Not you too. I thought you might let me have my own pick of who is going to lead with me.”

“The Moon Goddess picked who was going to lead with you and it isn’t Star! It’s Astrid. Your brother accepted her and they look happier than ever so why haven’t you?”

“She is a human! Why do I have to explain that to everyone? She can’t lead a pack of werewolves. She has no idea what it means to be a werewolf!”

“That is bullshit and you know it! You're scared. You’re a scared little boy who is clinging to the only woman that you have slept with because it’s easy.”

“No, that’s not true at all.”

“Oh it is. You know it is. You have clung on to Star because she is easy to control. You don’t even care that none of the other people in this pack like her.”

“That’s not true either! You don’t even know Star.”

“I don’t have to know her. I can tell by how the Omega’s scurry away from her or how she and her gaggle of idiots walk around here. Like their s**t doesn’t stink. She clings to your power and that is the only reason she has any friends still. You wreak of fear. I can’t figure out what you fear in Astrid though. Why does she make you scared?”

“She doesn’t make me scared. She is nothing to me.”

“Your lying and if you're not prove it. Take her on a date while your brother is gone.”

“Where is Seb going?”

“I had to come home early to talk to your ass so he has to go back and finish up with the other pack. Take her on a date and see if you have anything in common.”

“Fine. It is only going to prove what I already know though.”

“We will see.”
