His Proposal

"Son, you know you can't get everything without a wife," Mother said which I don't know why she's suffering herself over the will that I am not interested in "But mom, I have no girlfriend nor a fiance, and you're talking about a wife. How is that possible?" I questioned, not understanding her "We need someone to pretend to be your wife and get the will. That's all after everything. You both go on your way no string attached," she simply stated "In exchange of what?" I asked because every girl I know will ask for something in return "I will think about that later," "Mom, I hope you won't regret it later," I warned "Don't worry, I need someone from a poor background or a girl from the slum." "Mom," I shouted irritably. I just don't understand how mothers think sometimes "Okay, forget that part, but we need to look for a way out," "Have heard you. i will think about it, but I have some work to do," "Be fast about it, or I take things into my hand," "Don't worry bye," I said, tired of the topic already "Are you chasing me?" She asked "How can I chase my lovely mom?" I sweetly talked before ending the call. If not , I don't think she will end the call any moment from now and continue talking nonstop without getting tired. I used to wonder how she and dad got married because they're different people from different worlds. On the other hand, dad is the quiet and reserved one, but Mom is totally the opposite, which I think love conquers. If not, those two wouldn't have been married. I pressed the intercom which my secretary walked in. "Good day, sir.thank you" "What's my schedule?" I asked, not looking up at her because I'm tired of all girls throwing themselves on me with short skirts and open chest revealing their bossom and thighs "You have a meeting with the board, then another one with BULMA Copt." She said "Alright then set everything before time" I said dismissing her before continuing with my work but I could still feel her presence "you're dismissed" I hissed irritated with her attitude I wished I can just fire her already but she just resumed not more than three days and if i do fire her now I'm only causing damage to my company and business which I don't need to be seen in the first page of every magazine or newspaper tomorrow just because of a secretary I continue working till it's time for the meeting , and I walked out straight to the hall, my secretary by my side, giving me the necessary information I need to know before the meeting begins Immediately we arrived at the doorstep she keeps quiet and push open the door for me which I walked in while the rest of the board members stand up to show their respect to me which I seat first before gesturing for them to have their seats without wasting much time the meeting begins where I just sat there listening to them and nodding my head seeing there's a lot of progress in the company which I'm glad and decided to let them continue since I see no reason I should be here when everything is in good condition. I walked out with my secretary following behind me "sir your next meeting is just in a few minutes." "Get the car ready," I said without uttering another word to her again, which she quickly dialled the driver's number, informing him of my schedule. I walked into the office and picked up my phone before walking out to the elevator, which took me down to the garage where the driver was already seated waiting for me. He drove off immediately I set inside the car without waiting for further instructions he went straight to the reserved restaurant for my next appointment which I will be meeting with the director of BULMA Copt "Good afternoon" I greeted surprised to see him before giving him a handshake which he gladly returns "sorry for keeping you waiting" I apologize "It's okay just arrived a few minutes ago," "Alright, let's order," "No, thank you. It's better we go straight to the point, " he said, which I adjusted my tie "Okay then, so what have you decided about my proposal?" I asked because the only reason I'm here right now is to buy off the sinking company "We agreed, but" he said and stopped "But what?" I asked "Can you please let the workers continue with their works?" He asked a bit nervous, which I smiled "It's okay. I never had the intention of firing them so they can stay and continue with their works, but there will just be a little bit of changes, that's all," "Thank you, that means a lot." "And if you don't mind I will like you to be the manager since you know more about the company but I will have to change some certain things to raise the company because there are more damages to amend" "I will," "Good then, meet me in my office tomorrow for the new contract and the new rules and regulations," I said, getting up to leave "You're such a generous man. Thank you. " i smiled. I shaked him before walking out of the building I don't think I have the strength and energy to go back to the office, so I called my secretary "cancelled all the remaining schedule for the day" "But sir," "I'm I cleared?" I asked, daring her to say something else "Sorry, sir. Yes, sir, " she answered, suturing, which I ended the call. "Take me to the bar," I said to the driver "Yes sir," he replied. After that, nothing was said again while I just sat at the back of the car while the driver drove off. I sighed in relief before getting out of the car. I walked straight to my reserve place, which is at the extreme corner of the bar where no one will see me, but I will see them Immediately I was serve and about to start drinking my phone rings which I take a glance look at it "oh s**t not again" I said before picking up the call "Hello grandma" I said putting the phone on speaker serving myself "Get your ass out of that bar right now and meet me at home in a jiffy," she said and hung up the phone before I could have time to protest. Having no other option, I walked out leaving my beer untouched , and the driver was already waiting for me in the parking space It's just a few drives from the bar to the house, so we arrived in no time. I spent a few seconds before getting out of the car, knowing fully well my grandmother was waiting for me inside to start nagging. I wonder when that old woman will let me be "Hello to you too" I immediately say before she starts shouting and talking non stop "and please don't start lecturing me about business again" I didn't stop talking because I know that's the reason she called me back home "I'm glad you know the reason I called you back." "But you know that company belongs to me, right?" I asked "I don't care if it belongs to you or not. All I care about is that you take care of the business very well," "This is one of the reasons I decided to start my own business because I can't endure all your nagging always, but still, yet I'm not free." "You will only be free when you get me a great grandson. That way, you will be free," "Not you too," "So I'm not the only one complaining?" She asked, which I sighed before using my hand to smooth my hair "Can I at least have some rest?" I asked, trying to walk past her, but she stopped me "Not yet. Who is the other person who wants you to get married? She asked, which I didn't reply. "Oh! don't tell me it's that gold digger of yours you called a mother?" She speaks "Could you stop calling her that please?" I refrain myself from shouting "I won't because that's what she's. I know she only wants you to get married so you can get the inheritance, then she lies because she will not have a taste of the inheritance" "Have heard you, but please let me rest," "Fine then, but get ready. I have a list of girls you will be going on blind date with," "Grandma" "Mike is coming back tomorrow because I'm tired of seeing you on the newspaper or magazine every week because of how you change your secretary" she said which I smiled a little bit at least he gave me a good news "Thank you for that. At least I won't be looking for a replacement all the time with Mike on by my side," I said and left before she could say any other thing again
