His Proposal

Chapter Three

Birds chirping always sound like music to me every morning because I love the way it is always fresh and calming before the morning sunlight. I picked up the remote and opened the curtain so that I could inhale the morning breeze before the sunlight came out.

I sat up and began doing push-ups for a few minutes before I walked into the bathroom to freshen up and go to work. I'm not the type to waste her time, so I finished on time and walked out to see my grandma already on the dining table

"Good morning, grandma." I greeted her, smiling at her

"Good morning, grandson," she replies. "How was your night?"

"Splendid"

"Good to hear that," she said before pressing the intercom for the maids to begin the serving. We ate quietly through the breakfast, which I'm glad because I hardly eat quietly like this with grandma on the table because she has one thing or the other to say. I'm about to take my last bit when she cleared her throat, which I know she's about yo say something, so I looked up at her, waiting for her to talk

"So I was thinking you to the main company to see how things are going," she said

"But I thought till after I get married or if I'm engaged?" I question not believing her

"Well, who knows, maybe you will die a bachelor, but that will be over my dead body," She said, which I chuckled

"What will I do there?" I couldn't help but ask

"Go and play, you naughty boy. Of course, you're going to work and check out the progress of the company and do the needful because I'm not getting younger"

"Okay, I will go, but I won't spend much time because I have a meeting today,"

"It's alright, just make sure you go there. I will inform the board about your coming"

"Not yet, grandma. am just there to check, so let me go unexpectedly and see what's going around the company."

"Alright then. All the best I need to take a nap. My legs are aching me. "

"Sorry, wife, I teased," I said, which she smiled

"Get going before you're late," she hushes me out while I kiss her before walking out.

Immediately I entered the car and the driver drove off my phone begins to ring which I sighed before closing the shield between me and the driver knowing fully well who it is and it's its going to be another reminder

The first thing I heard after picking the call and putting it on speaker is "Zion, you don't listen to me anymore because of that your wicked grandmother."

"Mom, please stop not now again. I have told you time without number to stop involving grandma in everything and stop calling her names she has nothing to do with this," I said, irritated

"I can see she has fed you with lies again, but anyway that apart. I just hope you haven't forgotten about what we talked about last?" She asked

"I haven't and if it's because of that you're calling me early this morning then let it because have assured you I will get someone but please refrain from calling me for that same issue again"

"That's left for you in a few days. If you don't call me back or give me feedback, you will see me,"

"You won't do that, and bye, I'm in the office already," I said, hanging up, roughing my head in frustration. I can't just know how my mother is thinking. I comb through my head with my hand before opening the shield

"Sir, we are here," the driver said which I nodded, and he quickly got down to open the door.

I began to walk inside before I sighted Mike afar waiting for me at the door but immediately he saw me he ambled to my side "Good morning" he greeted me with a smile which I smiled back without uttering a word to him which he didn't bother knowing I'm not in the mood.

I didn't stop anywhere but straight to the board meeting, knowing fully well the new product will be released soon, which they have to come to a conclusion on. I opened the door and walked in which made all heads turn towards me and they quickly began to stand up but I gestured for them to sit and continue while I walked straight to the chairwoman chair where grandma always sits and asked them to continue with the presentation. I looked around everywhere but couldn't see some manager, director, and some other members of the board.

I walked out of the meeting room when the presentation was done without uttering a word. I take the left turn and walked straight to the golf field where I know they will be playing or doing some sort of nonsense and true to my imagination I saw them talking with cups in their hands "I can see your all enjoying yourself" I said which makes all of them to turn to look me

"I didn't know you would be coming. The chairwoman never mentioned to me that you're coming here today," Mr Kim said

"I can see you need to be informed about everything going on the office the same way your loathing and collecting money from people giving them fake promises of things that won't work out" I said looking at all of them which Mr Kim was about to speak up but I was not there for his bullshit so I speak

"Don't worry enjoy your time while it last because you think we don't know anything your doing in the company just to ruin it worry not you will hear from me soon and less you know the chairwoman knows about everything going on but she just decided to leave you to see how far you will go or if you will amend your ways but I think she's mistaken" I said to him before walking out Mike following suit.

I was about to go out when I saw the company's front page full with people and umbrellas, which I had to stop to ask. "What's going on?" I asked Mike, thinking he might know

"Let me confirm," he said before walking closer to the people gathered around looking at whatsoever when I set my eyes on her

I couldn't stop looking at her that I didn't know when Mike arrived "Sir" he said, which I groaned, not knowing when he's going to stop the formalities

"What happened?" I asked

"They are doing some shootings here, which I think they got permission from the company before setting up their cameras," Mike said

"Who gave them the permission?" I asked,"and shouldn't they have moved a little bit out of the way?"

"Maybe because they want the name of the company to be visible,"

"Whatever tell them to move a little bit away because at some point they might block the entrance because of the people gathering around to watch them display" I said still looking at where I just saw her not long ago but she's not standing there any longer so I walked to the car seeing the driver has already parked the car. Mike joined me after seeing they had adjusted, and he asked some of the people to take note so that the entrance won't be blocked and stop people from walking inside.

The driver asked where I should be taken tok so I take my time before answering "home." I said my eyes close, but I couldn't just stop seeing her even when I closed my eyes

I hissed for an uncountable amount of time before we arrived home when Mike asked me what was wrong, and I said nothing.

All my thoughts were how to see her again. Then I shake it off thinking it just because I'm looking for someone to give the proposal of being my fake fiancée which I think will be a perfect match for that role.

"Mike, I don't know. Maybe if you notice a girl while at the scene," I said, trying not to show any emotion

"No, but why did you ask?" Mike, question

"I'm looking for who to propose to so she could be my girlfriend or pretend to be in love with me so I can get free from grandma," I explained

"Oh," he said, looking at me

"You know what, just forget about it. I will look for someone else within the week so I can be free from grandma constant complaining and nagging"

"It's simple. I can look into her to find out who she is."

"Let it me,"

"Then go on one of the blind dates. Who knows, you will might get someone to propose to"

"Just forget about it. I will look for another way" I said dismissing the topic walking straight to my room to freshen up and check up on some of my mails because I missed an important client today but I hope it's been taking care off by my secretary

Seeing how restless I am, I walked out again to a nearby hotel to cool off.

I sat on the bar and ordered a drink when I felt the need to use the toilet. I walked in and saw a lady in the men's section almost naked which I got tempted and did the unthinkable which she quickly walked out after dressing and that's when I remembered her face and follow her without her noticing until she reached her destination before I parked and hand over my card to her
