“Calm down, just Look back, I think the phone is ringing behind you, under that black nylon” he pointed towards a black nylon on the ground.
“Oh my Goddddd" she took the phone up, placed it on her chest, jumped up happiness.
“Is that your phone?" He asked.
"Yeahhhh, I'm sorry for laying an accusation on you”, she spoke softly.
She shamefully turned and left the scene immediately.
That night refused to die off, it seems as if it's taking longer for the day to break .
Sunshine jumped upright from her bed with fright, panting fastly,chest stoning.
Her skin was already damped with sweat, her heartbeat was racing like a lion. She was hearing a tiny voice towards her ears, at the same time, a finger curled round her neck, her throat tightened with fear.
As she turned in great fear, darkness was all around her, just a memory of her encounter with Nathaniel in her dream replay.
“What have I done?😭"
She dragged her hand over her face but the memory clung like a skincare. The eye contact, the electric shock she got as if he was stepping closer from behind ... .it all replayed in vivid flashes she couldn't silence.
Sunshine had spent time sharpening herself, building courage for her defeat in this journey of revenge.
Nathaniel was the face of that betrayal.
The man whose existence alone reopened every wound.
The husband of the woman who ruined her mother’s life.
And yet…
Her fingers curled into the sheets, pulling them tight as another memory forced itself into her mind the exact moment his eyes met hers, the surprise, the softness of his lips and the strange familiarity he couldn’t explain.
He had looked at her like he knew her soul. Like he saw something she wasn’t ready to reveal.
Sunshine swallowed her spit hard, she wanted calculated vengeance, emotionless but emotions were trying to trick her anyways.
She hated it
She hated HIM
She hated herself, messing up in the first place with emotions .
She clenched her jaw, sat up from bed, walked across the room and stopped in front of a small picture frame.
Her mother!

Sunshine carried the picture frame,her hands shaking,she still tightened the frame with her grip .
“Mom, mom, mom,I didn't forget and I can never forgetttt!!!" tears rolled down her cheeks, she dragged her right hand over her face,wiped the tears.
Her mom's image was still moping at her tears as if it's reading her mind.
It never did.
This was the reason she came back for Nathaniel's heart.
Not because she loved it when he brushed his fingers over her skin, sexually pulled her towards him, instead of pushing him away.
At that moment, Sunshine forced her eyes shut, tightened her lips, tears watered her cheeks, she told herself “Nathaniel is my enemy”
A tiny masculine voice echoed from her back, “I feel like I should protect you"
She flinched her head.
"Protect me?, from what? From himself??"
Goosebumps wear her fear, she's literally confused and angry, she placed back the picture frame and rightly stepped two feet back
“Why does his word feel like a promise?"
Sunshine shook her head violently
"No, No, Nooooo!!!”
A sudden gust of wind pushed against her window, rattling it slightly, with steady heavy breathe, chest tight, she turned to her left hand side where the window was, outside was still dark but faint hints of the morning brightened the sky
She tightened her fist “Don't let this get to you” she whispered to herself, “Stay focused”
As Sunshine imagined, Nathaniel wasn't the heartless human she imagined “hmm,I thought he'll be wicked like his wife too, waohhh"
But….
Nathaniel wasn't cold either
He wasn't cruel too.
Sunshine squeezed her face in confusion
“He's just a complicated human,can't even understand his character” Sunshine whispered to herself
“Omo, I don dey fear am oo, jeeez”
Her heart keep finding his memory, her mind keep replaying replaying the last night memories
“His voice, eyes and quiet understanding’
The Sun ☀ ️ rose, Sunshine realized Nathaniel was getting into her head like crazy, that's a signal Nathaniel ain't going to be crazy to hate like that.
‘An old enough to be my father? Sunshine what's getting into your head this girl”
‘oh my God, this revenge is already smelling like what's not gonna be clean till end’ she whispered to mind,her heart already slipping
“Sunshine breath in???” She instructed herself
“Out!!!”
“God help me,this is no more looking like my plan”
(Phone ringing)
“Who please?” She whispered loudly
Picking up from the bed, her right index finger slipped to click the green call answer button .
"Hi my shylaaaaa, Sorry, Sunshine" murmured a masculine voice
Sunshine covered her mouth with her left hand in shock, whispered in her mind
“How did he get my number?"
"Who's this please?
So you never mastered my voice?
“Is this DD? Oh DD I'm sorry, it's not what you think,my head is full right now.”
"Hmmm, what's she saying?”
