Chapter 5

1133 Words
Sierra's POV "Block the gate! Don't let them in!" Their exchange of gunfire can be heard around the place at the same time people shouting, while I couldn't think properly because the blindfold was still on and both my limbs, and hands were tied up. Perhaps Brandon and the others came to save me and that's a huge relief for me. Even though gunshots made me frightened. My sweat rushed down to my cheeks because this war got into my nerves. Terrified and thinking of my sick brother who'll lost me if I didn't think a way to escape, and luckily that stupid man left his cutter. Sometimes I have to be stupid. "Boss, they have already reached the front yard. Half of our men died and we're losing bullets," I heard the man speaking with a terrified voice. "That moron! He never keeps his words!" *Gunshot rang continuously* "We need to retreat, boss. We are losing everything and this is our chance to escape!" "i***t! We are not escaping because real men don't do that!" Their boss shouted like a tiger. My gut wanted to interfere and tell them to retreat because whether they wanted to fight until death, it has no use because they would probably kill him. "What about the woman, boss? Should we live her? Sandro wanted her, so why don't we let him get that woman and leave while doing that? We already had our chance, but we're defeated by them again." "Don't you have any idea except for escaping? That is not even a good idea, so it's either thinking of another plan or I'll use you as my shield?!" "Boss, he's right. We need to surrender!" That's right, surrender. "What about the girl?" "Forget about her! Let's go!" Wait, what? No! "Hey! Don't leave me here! You cowards! I want to live longer! Hey!" I shouted. "Don't leave me alone! Hey!" I yelled as loud as my voice could, but they seemed not to hear me. They probably ran away because of fear and left me in this chair. Tied up! This is not good! What if I was wrong? What if those men weren't Brandon?! "I swear if we meet again! I'm gonna rip your balls off!!" But suddenly someone removed my blindfold and I was exposed to a man who was familiar to me. He's probably Brandon, because even though my vision is quite blurry. I could tell he's the man they wanted. Thank God he saved me! "Glad you're alive, Sierra." "Untied her." His men immediately untied me and I massaged my wrist because of being tied too long, then glared at him because this isn't part of our agreement. "Don't give me that look. Let's go." "No!" I stood up violently and answered, "I'm not going to come with you even though you force me to. This isn't about the wedding, Sandro. You didn't tell me I was about to experience this kidnapping!" "You are going with me whether you like it or not." "My decision was final. I'm backing out and wouldn't marry someone like you! I am praying that hopefully someone will remember me and save me from them! I wanted to live for my brother!" I replied. His sharp, cold gaze made me swallow. As if he didn't like what I said and shouting at him wasn't a good idea. I could even hear those men chuckling. "You made a wrong move, lady. I'll start praying if I were you because my boss wasn't the normal guy you can see in the club," the man wearing a hoodie laughed at me. "Sorry, miss. I guess you need to say goodbye to your dear brother because he's going to see you in the pit. With a bunch of people crying, if you have any family to attend your funeral!" The other man shook his head while smirking. What are these men talking about? Who is this guy and why did he choose me to be his acting wife? Why? This is why you need to know every person you hang out with, Sierra. Because one of them can be a gangster, or worse a mafia lord… this man could be a mafia… "What are you laughing at?" I questioned them. Brandon lowered his body and looked straight into my eyes, then he grabbed my jaw. It's not painful but those eyes are telling me to shut up, and it's scaring me. "You sign the contract, you have to fulfill your job. I become nice to you but this is the first time you test my patience, however, I will save it. Your opinion is not required, Sierra. You're under my rules and law, so obey them." He moved his lips to my ear, "I'll show no mercy next time you humiliate me, Sierra. Marked my words." He stood up without cutting his stare to me, both of his hands were inside his pocket. While me? I can't take my eyes off him because somehow this made me realize what kind of danger awaits me… What did you put yourself into, Sierra? "Help her. We need to leave as soon as possible, before those r*scals decided to come back." "Yes, sir!" The man wearing a hoodie approached me and helped me stand up, then we started walking out of that abandoned building where the rest of his men were waiting. "Glad she's alive. Did you get their boss?" The guy wearing a floral polo tuck inside his black pants and has weird hair color greet us. His hair was red. Like blood. "He escaped." The red-headed guy shook his head, "I knew it. He never learns his lesson, wants me to hunt them down and bring their heads?" "No. We have a wedding to catch. Bring the woman who does her make-up, she needs a quick touch up," after saying those words, he went inside his car. Then, I looked at the car until it was gone. Brandon left me and he's mad because I shouted at him… "Brandon was wrong. You need a full body makeover," the red-headed guy says. "Pardon?" "Trevor Scott, nice meeting you," he lent his hand. I accept his hand, "Sierra Marie Rodriguez." "So, Sierra. I believe today was your wedding day. I want to apologize for experiencing these unexpected events, which we have to hurry because the guests wouldn't wait too long. Shall we?" "Y-yes…" I rode in the black car. We started leaving the place and I was quite occupied because after seeing his cold, furious, deadly eyes. It made me shiver, as if he's gonna rip my head off. Perhaps, he would next time. I sighed. I'm stuck with this man forever and my only way to leave is to fulfill my job.
