Chapter 1: Flashback To Before Mikinzie was born (How It All Began)

18 year old Paige, and her Father Beta Kendryk had gotten into a fight, so she decided she was going to move out. She gets on her phone and messages her friend Kenneth.

"Hey I'm sorry to ask this of you but could I stay with you for a while? Me and my dad just got into a fight earlier and I need a place to stay for a while." She writes.

"Yea. You can stay with me for a while. I just need to ask my grandma." He writes back.

"Thank you, Kenneth." She replies back to him.

"You're welcome Sexy l. ;)" He replies back.

She then goes and packs as much stuff as she can and heads over to her neighbor Niki's house and asks for a ride to Branchstire Canida.

Her neighbor asks: "Do you have the address to where you need to go?"

"Yes, I have the address." She replies

Paige gets on her phone on the ride to Branchstire and messages Kenneth.

"I'm on my way." She hits send.

*PING*

Paige picks up her phone.

*1 NEW MESSAGE FROM: KENNETH*

She reads:

I haven't asked my grandma yet because she's asleep. Just hold on, ok?

"I'm already on my way." She replies back.

As Paige and Niki are pulling up, Kenneth is walking outside. Kenneth hugs Paige and helps her grab her stuff from the car. They go to his broke down car sitting in the back behind the barn.

"I'll be right back." He says.

"Ok." She mumbles nervously.

5 minutes pass by and he comes walking back to the car holding a pack of cigarettes.

"You smoke?" He asks and holds out a cigarette for her.

"Yea. Thanks." She mumbles quietly.

"So what happened between you and your dad that made you want to move out? If you don't mind me asking." He asks as he puffs on his cigarette.

"Well it all started when my dad decided to let my sister make rules for HIS house even though she doesn't live there. I mean, she lives with her mate." She says as she puffs on her cigarette, a tear running down her face. She tried to mask her emotions and tried to be strong but at that moment all she could do was let loose and cry.

Kenneth pulls Paige into a hug as she cries. that's when he lifted her chin and slowly kissed her lips.
