The mansion that was supposed to witness my execution, my punishment for a crime I didn't commit, had descended into complete and utter chaos.
Kade's voice continued to thunder through the halls, each word a promise of destruction. "If anything—anything—happens to my daughter, I will wipe out this entire pack! Every single one of you will pay with your lives! The mansion, the guards, the maids—everyone who stood by and did nothing while she was dying!"
The threat hung in the air like a guillotine blade, and I watched as the servants who had been so eager to watch me suffer just moments ago now cowered in terror. Their faces had gone pale, their hands trembling as they realized they'd made a catastrophic mistake by following Magnificent's orders instead of helping Valencia.
