“Brittany? Answer me dammit!” I yelled through our mind-link. I could tell immediately she had closed me out. I turned on Seth, furious at what had happened. “How could you turn your back on her? Was it not enough to have her believe she had been rejected by you all these years?” I yelled, stepping up ready to punch him in the face.
Connor stepped between us, preventing me from reaching my goal. “I did not expect her to leave,” Seth replied indignantly. “What did you expect? That she would grovel to the man who had rejected her so callously?” I demanded as I saw Seth’s face go red with a tinge of discomfort.
“She cannot have gotten far, let’s see if we can find her,” Kristine suggested as she stood and moved towards the door. “I have warriors already looking for her,”
