PROLOGUE
The rain's pouring, soaking the streets until they gleam under the glow of traffic lights. Hiraya stood outside the hotel her umbrella discarded at her feet, forgotten. She didn’t feel the rain seeping into her clothes, didn’t care that her hair clung to her cheeks, or that her shoes squelched in the forming puddles. Her entire body had gone numb, hollowed out by the image she could never erase.
Through the half-open blinds of his living room window, she had seen them. Ethan. And her. Another woman. Their silhouettes pressed close, his hand resting on the curve of her back, his lips brushing against hers.
It hadn’t been an accident. It hadn’t been a misunderstanding. It was deliberate, and intimate.
Hiraya's chest constricted so tightly she thought she might collapse right there on the wet pavement. Her throat burned, but no scream came out. Her body betrayed her as much as he had — she couldn’t move, couldn’t run, couldn’t even cry. She just stared at the faint light spilling out of his hotel room, as though it would flicker off and prove she had imagined it all.
But she hadn’t. She knew what she saw.
she's mentally exhausted, she's tired of everything that she only wants now to die
Her phone buzzed in her pocket. She read the text of Ethan and said "I will come home late"
Ethan.
The man she hopes will may change someday and treated her as his home. The man that will care for her feelings, and loved her someday. But, all of that was just her hope, and she knows that it's really impossible that day will come, because from the start they are just forced to be together. And she can't blame him for that, because she is the one who crosses the line between them, He never showed her any motives to love him. It is just one sided love he never fall in love with her.
She stumbled back a step, nearly slipping on the slick concrete. The rain blurred her vision, but not enough to erase the memory already seared into her. The world tilted, and she reached blindly for the nearest bench, collapsing onto it, her soaked body shivering violently.
Her mind, reached for memories — moments when Ethan always drove her away, shows his cruelty to her and makes her see he's never belonged to her they were just united by papers not their hearts.
They had been together for 3 years and she's still a stranger to him. He comes home late, smells alcohol and a woman's perfume and every time she always sees a kiss mark on his body that makes her hearts bleed, and cleans her husband, before she runs to her room and cried.
She remembers the day she said I do, how her hearts react, when she said those words to him fantasizing his appearance, She loved him at first sight but that's opposite to him after he said I do, and pretended their kiss, He said that " You will live in hell" That's when her nerves shivers of the coldest voice she heard from him. A lone tears running through my checks for unexplainable feelings.
Hiraya pressed her palms against her face now, "You know that he will never love you why still hoping, it's been Three years you don't even have happy moments with him"she mumure
The phone buzzed again. She ignored it, her body shaking harder.
Their one-year anniversary . No expensive restaurants, no gifts wrapped in ribbons. Just her alone at the dinner table where the dinner she prefers, she sip a wine while a lone tear escapes from her eyes, it was already past 12:00 a.m but not even a shadow of her husband comes until she's drunk and fall asleep at the table, she woke up when the sun
hits her skin, She was already in her night dress. She went outside hoping that her husband was the one who changed her clothes and put her into her bed but she couldn't even find his shadow. She asked their maid but the answer made her back to reality that she just assumed too much. His husband didn't even come back since yesterday.I laugh at myself, "how are you so dumb, He has his own life and you're just married in papers Hiraya ,why still thinking about impossible things You're a laughingstock "
I remember when he came home with a very Dark aura, he pinned me onto the wall aggressively, the pain was visible to my face
“You know what I want?” he murmures
"I want you to be gone"
The words cut her like a blade now. She clenched her fists, the rainwater dripping off her knuckles.
When she doubted herself she always remembers the Boy she met when she was a kid that said “You’re brilliant. Don’t let anyone make you feel small.”
Hiraya bent forward, her sobs wracking her chest, muffled by the storm. She hated herself for remembering. Hated herself for still loving him. Even now, her body longed for him, her heart still whispered his name.
But love wasn’t enough. Not anymore.
The truth was there, undeniable: he had chosen someone else.
Her phone buzzed again, and this time she forced herself to look. His name glared at her from the screen, his message appearing.
“Hiraya, Where are you."
Her vision blurred, hot tears mixing with rain.
She let the phone fall to her lap, the screen glowing faintly against her soaked jeans. Her body felt heavy, every limb leaden, as though grief itself had weight.
This wasn’t just heartbreak. This was humiliation. Deception. Betrayal.
The kind of pain that rewrote who you were.
She lifted her face to the storm, her tears indistinguishable from the rain. “why are you so cruel to me” she whispered to the night, her voice breaking. “Why can't you just love me, Why wasn’t I enough for you, Ethan?”
The city gave no answer. Only the relentless rain, pounding against her skin like judgment.

The Aftermath
She sat there until the blinds in his window shut completely, until the glow inside vanished. Whether they were asleep now or tangled together in the dark, she didn’t know. She didn’t want to know.
Her heart had already been gutted. Nothing else could hurt more.
She picked up her phone again, staring at the glowing message. Her fingers hovered over the screen. she saw the words. “Where the hell are you "
Her hand trembled, but she powered off the phone and shoved it into her pocket. Her body swayed as she stood, her legs weak beneath her. She turned and walked away from the building, each step heavier than the last, her chest hollow but burning at the same time.
Tonight wasn’t just an ending. Tonight was the death of every dream, every version of love she had believed in.
And maybe, she realized as her tears blurred the streetlights, this was only the beginning of a different story — one she had never wanted to tell.
Because sometimes love doesn’t end with goodbye.
Sometimes it ends with betrayal.
And betrayal is the kind of wound that never fully heals.
"I love you, Ethan but I'm tired"
