"Follow her," I heard a gruff command as I sprinted away from the muscled men surrounding me. I just ran with no particular destination in mind. I don't care where my feet would lead me but I needed to be as far away from those men as I could. Their aura alone shouted danger.
I took random lefts and rights before halting to a stop. I tried to catch my breath while looking around, only to find swings and slides around me.
A park?
The moon light was the only thing illuminating the otherwise dark night.
I was panting hard and my feet ached from all the running.
The park felt silent like a mouse as compared to the nuisance it is during the day. I squinted around and I sighed in relief when I found no one following behind.
I knew it wasn't very prudent of me to stop but the pain radiating from my feet was getting unbearable with every second.
My breathing rate was increasing and I could hear my heart beat racing.
Fuck. Now's not the best time to have a panic attack.
I tried my best to calm my nerves but it was all in vain.
"I saw her coming here," I heard a voice from behind me which caused me to panic even more.
Shit.
I ducked on instinct, making my way behind the slides so I wasn't visible in the darkness. Adrenaline rushed in my blood vessels to the point where I could feel my pulse beating fastly in my neck while my palms were sweating like crazy.
"Where did she go?" I heard a different voice this time.
How many of them are they? What do they even want from me? I'm just another girl from the streets.
I decided to run in the direction opposite to where the voices came from, but a hand gripped me roughly, pulling me hard, "Where do you think you're going, Sunshine?"
And the next thing I knew was a handkerchief pressed against my mouth and a pungent odor hitting my nose before my eyelids fluttered close, followed by darkness crowding me.
