The first mistake: is being born a girl.

The second and the most fatal: not transforming into her wolf when she was supposed to!

Since the founding of the pack, her family has always been the one to hold the title of Gamma, or used to, until her.

Gamma Martin is hoping to hand over the title to his son, just like his father and forefathers did. His hope came crashing when his wife gave birth to a girl and was unable to take in again.

Angry, but with no one to blame; not his mate, whom he loves, or the Moon goddess, whom he worships. His anger turns into hate. Not hate for himself, but hate for the girl child for being born.

Growing up, Salina had to walk on a thin rope. Always trying to please, and get her father and Pack's approval.

Her whole world comes crumbling down when on her 15th birthday, she is unable to shift, a rare occurrence among those of her kind. Feeling depressed and bitter, she was left with no choice but to recline into herself as no one wanted anything to do with her.

Not her best friend. Not her pack. Not her father.

She meets someone from the neighboring pack, who seems to have no problem with her being without a wolf. A friendship blossoms between them. But then, she's set up. She spends a drunken night with him.

Her mate stumbles into the room the next morning.

And that's when she realized; she had just slept with her mate's brother.

Worse, he had slept with her just to spite her mate.

What happens to her friendship?

What happens when Salina finds out that she is not a weak werewolf after all?

Is she going to fight for what is rightfully hers?

Chapter 1
"f**k! I feel like I'm going to drop dead if I don't get to my bed real quick". Salina had been inducting the young newly turned werewolves that chose to become warriors. From sunset to sundown, she had been in the training ground of her pack, seeing to their induction. It had been a day of vigorous activities! She felt sorry for the kids. If she was feeling this worn out, they must be going through excruciating pains right now. As the Gamma of her pack, it was her duty to help train and organize the warriors. While her father who held the position before her had handled the administrative duties, she had been besought by her pack to become the chief warrior as well. She wouldn't blame them, seeing as she is a great and well-recognized warrior herself. Salina pushed open the door to her room in the Pack's house and closed it behind her, pushing the bolt into place. "I need a hot bath!" "Uhm, I already drew one for you." Salina turned to face the direction of the voice she just heard, immediately moving into a defensive stance. She squinted her eyes against the darkness of her room, trying to figure out who was there. "f**k!" She cursed under her breath, regretting not turning the light in her room on the moment she walked in. She had been so tired and focused on getting a much-needed rest that she had not sensed the presence of a threat. "Who are you? And why are you in my room?" She asked the moment she could make out a silhouette leaning on the wall beside her vanity table. She took a cautious step forward, still in her defensive stance. She narrowed her eyes, trying to make out the face in the darkness. "Sal". Salina froze. There was only one person that called her by that name. Only one person had the voice she had been too paranoid to recognize at first. "Brax?" She called, surprised. "Is that you?" Braxton chuckled. " Took you long enough". Without thinking, without hesitation, Salina flew across her room. Braxton straightened away from the wall, his arms wide open for the woman he had kept dreaming about. Thinking about. Salina flung herself into Braxton's open arms, wrapping her arms around his neck and holding on tight. The moment Braxton's arms closed around her waist, cocooning her into his warmth, Salina released a breath and melted into him. She felt all the tiredness in her evaporate into thin air. She felt like she was finally home. "I can't believe you are here," she whispered against his chest. "I can't believe I'm holding you in my arms right now, either". Salina whined in protest as Braxton pulled away from her slightly. Braxton placed his hands on her cheeks and tilted her head up, pressing his lips against hers. They both sighed the moment their lips touched, like a thirsty traveler who finally found a fountain to quench his thirst. The kiss was slow and passionate, as they savored each other, getting reacquainted with each other's shape and taste once again. Braxton's hands slipped down to her sides, back. He ran his hands over her whole body, getting reacquainted with the shape of her. They pulled away and leaned their foreheads against each other. Salina's hands came up to Braxton's face, and she ran her hands all over his face. Her hands moved from his forehead to his eyes, nose, and cheeks, and then she traced his lips with her thumb. Braxton sighed contently, melting into her touch. "Wait!" Salina slipped away from him. "What's wrong?" Braxton tried to hold onto her, but Salina was already moving away. "I need to see your face". Salina flipped the switch on and her room was flooded with light. Their eyes met from across the room and held, the space between them crackling with so much emotional and s****l tension. Braxton's eyes ran all over her body and he smiled. "You have become even more beautiful, Sal". Salina blushed and marveled at the difference between their meeting now and the first time they met each other. ------- FLASHBACK------ Salina sat on one of the seats in the conference-like room, waiting for all the Moonstone's pack council to be present, so she could get introduced to them. She swerved around in her seat and stood the moment she heard the door of the room swing open. Three well-built men walked into the room. They look similar and yet different at the same time. Salina did not need a soothsayer to tell her that the older-looking man at the front was the Alpha of the Moonstone pack. His aura and the Alpha energy radiating from him was a dead giveaway. She bowed respectfully towards him. He gave her a curt nod and moved to take the seat at the head of the long table in the middle of the room. Salina rolled her eyes discreetly. So rude. I'm sure he acted that way because I'm a girl Salina was pulled out of her reverie when she heard, " Salina?" She frowned, turning towards the direction of the voice. Who knows me here? Salina's eyes widened the moment it landed on the person who called her name. "Daniel! I was hoping to see you here, but not this fast, though". Daniel chuckled and stepped forward to wrap his arms around Salina. "Well, well, here I am". A low growl came from behind them and Salina jumped. She glanced behind Daniel to find the third guy standing there and glaring ferociously at her and Daniel. Salina's brow drew together at the level of ferocity, even as her brain registered how crazily handsome he was. What's wrong with him? Does he have a thing against meeting strangers? He's very handsome, though. Crazily so. 'Ugh. I can't believe I'm swooning over a grumpy male werewolf like a high school girl.' " Pay him no mind," Daniel interjected. " It's nothing personal, he's always that grumpy". Always? Salina nodded at the grumpy guy in greeting, but he ignored her and moved to the table and took a seat to the right of the Alpha. Salina scoffed. Asshole, she thought. He must be one of those primitive werewolves who look down on female wolves in positions of power. He has to be high in position to be able to sit there, though. Intrigued, Salina turned to Daniel. "Who is he, though?" Daniel had a sour look on his face as he answered as if he didn't want to talk about the guy in question. " That is my stepbrother, Braxton". ---------End of flashback---------
