Graduation day was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my life.
And for the most part, it was.
Mama Heidy cried the moment I walked across the stage. Tali cheered so loudly the entire row turned to stare at her, while Ate Zeina simply gave me a proud nod, as if she had expected nothing less. And Krystal? She hadn’t stopped teasing me since morning, especially about one particular person who, of course, wasn’t there.
I shouldn’t have been surprised. Why would he come? His grandfather wasn’t here , there was no reason for him to bother.
Still… a small, foolish part of me had hoped.
