Next day, before going for kitchen duties, Alicia and I walked to the training yard where the roller-skating competition was to be held. The organizing committee had set up a table at the back. The skating competition had drawn a surprisingly large crowd.
I filled in my name, hands trembling, trying not to care that people were watching me.
