The most weirdest thing happened at 11:15pm, it was like a string snapped in my head but it wasn’t just me, everyone in the pack felt it. I tried to link Alyra but she didn’t answer. It was empty. She was gone! She must have renounced her title within the pack. Holy s**t, her parents were on the floor in pain screaming for Alyra. “My baby, where is she? What’s happened?!” Beta David was crying that he felt her parting. The b***h of her mum, Beta female Evelyn, was screaming from the pain but no Tears. Just anger. “How dare she do this to us David? She’s left the pack!” Alpha Ritchie Roared and ordered is warriors to search for Alyra. “Find her and bring her back to me” Jack Shifted and started running to the border. I tried to link her again to warn her but no response. I hope she got out ok.

My Dad grabbed my arm and pulled me into his office “speak, now! Where has she gone?” “Daddy I swear I have no idea she didn’t tell me” “Mila don’t you lie to me, you will be tortured if you don’t come forward and there’s nothing I can do about it” “Daddy please, I don’t know! She told me to go with her, she told me Jack was going to force his mark on her if they weren’t mates!” “What are you talking about Mila? It’s been 3 hours since everyone went crazy about Alyra. Jack and his warriors crossed the border and I could hear them getting closer to the pack house. I looked out my window to see if they got her, Sierra was relaxed and said “they escaped, I cannot feel them close” my wolf Sierra was sad but relieved that they didn’t find our best friend and so was I. I tried to get some rest until my door was knocked down by Jack. “Where is she? Where is my mate?” “Jack, she isn’t your mate and you know it! I don’t know where she is” “Mila, we can do this the easy way or the hard way! It’s your choice” “I can’t tell you what you want to know because I don’t even know” “Fred, search the room. Get her phone and take Mila to the cells” I feel my dads presence outside “Alpha Ritchie, please stop your son. Mila doesn’t know where Alyra is, I’ve already spoken to her.” “Gumma Alistair, we will need to question your daughter. Fred, do not take her to the cells, she’s not a prisoner Jack, stand down. I’ll take it from here” I hear my dad sigh. “thank you, Alpha”

My heart has never raced that fast ever! Thank goddess they didn’t find my burner phone. Fred wasn’t looking too hard either, Alyra, Fred and I are friends and I could tell from the pain in his eyes he didn’t want to follow the command. Luckily, Alpha Ritchie stepped in!

I heard my little brother crying from his cot. His bedroom is connected to mine with our ensuite separating it. I quickly go in and settle him back down. Jesse is only 3 years old, Nanny G and I do our best to raise him. Ever since Mum died giving birth to him, my dad turned to stone when it comes to Jesse. I know he loves him, but it also pains him to look at the spitting image of his mate in my little brother. He has all of Mums features with dads Black Hair. He’s the only reason why I didn’t leave with Alyra. Nanny G looks after him from 7am to 4pm and I do the evening and Night when he wakes up. I love my Nanny G but dad doesn’t like her living in our wing so she has her own little cottage close by. Nanny G is a storyteller and always tells us stories of when my mum was a young pup. I feel so connected to Mum through Nanny G, even though it’s been 3 years since I heard her beautiful voice and her sweet scent of pears.

The next morning I went to my dads office and asked him if he could get an Omega to fix my door to my bedroom. I needed my privacy and I needed to check my burner phone. I was so restless last night, I stayed in Jesse’s room on the couch because I didn’t want to be alone. I was worried sick about Alyra and just wanted to know she was ok.

I took Jesse to the kitchen and made his breakfast. It was unlike Nanny G not to come to his room by 8am. I asked Hilary our cook if she had seen her this morning but she didn’t. Jesse wanted birthday cake for breakfast which reminded me, I was officially 18 today and so is Alyra. I didn’t feel any pull to anyone last night and I didn’t feel any different today. Maybe my mate is not from this pack which is a blessing. Now with Alyra gone, I will follow her too. I just need to play it smart and take Jesse and my Nanny G as well. I’ve already got a plan.

Once we finished breakfast we made our way to see Nanny and tell her my plan to get out of this hell hole. On my way I was stopped by a snarl, I turned around and Jack was breathing down my neck. “What do you want Jack? “ I know you know where that slut has gone, TELL ME NOW!” I covered poor Jesse’s ears and yelled at him “watch your mouth Jack! Jesse doesn’t need to hear those foul words and don’t you dare call Alyra that!” I stormed off hoping he didn’t follow me! “This isn’t over Mila!” He yelled out.

I let myself in and called out “Nanny where are you? Are you ok?” Her bed wasn’t slept in and I started to worry. Where could she have been? I had no phone to call anyone and started asking some Omegas that take care of her cottage if they knew where she was. Then I spotted Bailey! I mind linked her asking where my Nanny was “she’s in hospital, Jack said he told you?” NO HE DID NOT!!!! Oh goddess is she ok? I linked our Pack Doctor “is my Nanny G ok” “Mila, she needs you, I told Jack to get you over an hour ago” are you kidding me? I quickly run to the hospital with Jesse and find Nanny on the bed hooked up to wires. “My dear girl, I don’t have much time, I’ve been holding on to tell you I love you, you are the best gift your mother ever gave me. Take care of yourself and your brother, don’t let those Alphas Tie you down here, I only came here to look after you beautiful children when my sweet girl was taken. I never intended to stay this long. You are of age now, I have a letter for you in my drawer. Follow your heart, you are stronger than you think. I love you” she took her last breathe and I cried “Nanny G please don’t leave me, I love you! Come back please. NANNY!”

What is happening? Doctor McAlly announced her death and gave me his condolences. He explained Nanny’s been unwell for quite sometime and didn’t wAnt to worry me. She said she left me a letter, I need to find it. I run down to get cottage and start searching her drawers. I find one addressed to Jesse and 1 to me.

Dear Mila,

If you are reading this then I am no longer by your side. It has been an honour watching you grow into the beautiful young lady you are. Jesse is so lucky to have you as his big sister and I am proud of you for stepping into the motherly role for him when your mother passed away. She would be so proud of you Mila.

Your mother and I are from the Black Moon Pack in Melbourne. It’s about 2 hours from here. I have been in contact with my Luna Layla, and she will help you move to their pack if you decide Moon Shine is no longer safe for you. I know your Father is Gumma here and you have loyalty to him but I fear this Pack will not allow you to be the woman you are meant to be. Go spread your wings and give Jesse the pack he deserves. I had been working on moving the 3 of us until I got sick at the start of the year.

Wow! NannyG never spoke of her pack! Neither did Mum, and I think I know why! My Dad. He use to call Mums old pack, free spirits! I never understood why but now I’m starting to think he knew Mum had dreams and was living them when he found her. He took those dreams away from her. I need to speak with Alyra.
