Jordan’s POV The next day at work felt strange. Everything looked the same, same desks, same meetings, same noise from the phones, but something underneath it all felt different. Maybe it was Elle. She came in later than usual, quiet, dressed in black. There was something in her face that hadn’t been there before, a kind of hardness that made people step aside when she walked by.
