Fortunately for Sasha the college was indeed a few blocks ahead and she was able to find her way.
she managed to sign in and was directed to her first class which was a matrix class.
The college had been honored to have a student like her, the dean of schools Engineering had told her. Especially one with excellent marks and scores as hers.
They were also happy to welcome any member of Philips family in their college since apparently her grandfather was one of the board members of the college.
Sasha walked around the building looking for any door with the number she had been given.
Just by the door she saw a tall brunette smoking. well the school was indeed weird if they allowed students to smoke within the premises , Sasha thought as she approached the girl.
" the room you're looking for is on the other wing" she replied before Sasha could speak. she didn't bother to look up either.
"Umm okay so..." Sasha began.
"I'm not available for small talk, so just be on your way, the girl said lighting up another cigar.
well okaaay.. Sasha thought as she turned and headed towards the directed wing. what a nice way of being welcomed.
she good chance found her class and entered going straight to the back of the wall.
Nobody looked up and no one looked her way..which was what she needed.she walked towards the far end at the back and sat down pulling out her book. The class went on for a while with some of the students busy on their phone while others slept.
The lecturer a skinny tall guy with a funny moustache continued his class as if nothing was wrong.
Towards the end of the class Sasha saw the brunette she had met earlier get in and come towards her.
she sat down and crossed her leg without a word chewing some gum.
Sasha decided to ignore her and continued to write her notes.
"So your are the new student" the girl asked.
Sasha lifted her head without saying a world nodded and continued writing.
" okay look, sorry about earlier, I just had a lot in my mind and didn't mean to be rude" she continued.
"I was in the Dean's office and saw you get in just a few minutes after me. I saw the class number..."
Sasha looked at her surprised..she sure as hell hadn't expected her to apologize. she wasn't that bad after all.
she looked at her again undecided on what to say next.
"that's okay" Sasha said and smiled at her.
Silence then followed as each concentrated on the lecture.
The class ended twenty minutes later and people started walking out.
Sasha also got up and started walking towards the exit.she wasn't sure where to go as it was already two o'clock and that had been her only class that day.
Still unsure what to do she started walking towards the gate,, how was she going to get home? That jerk hadn't even bothered giving her his number so she had no way of contacting him.
she was still contemplating on whether to call a can when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
she turned and their stood the brunette girl.
" hey so I guess we started off on the wrong foot,, My name is Tony short for Antony,"
Sasha looked at her still unsure of what to say.
" well I could give you a ride home if you want." Tony continued saying.
Sasha was still quite.
Tony looked at her and started walking away maybe the girl didn't need her help.
she had enough problems of her own and wasn't about to start begging her if she didn't need her help.
In fact the only reason she was offering help was because she felt bad of snapping at her earlier.
"Yeah I do need a ride home, and my name is Sasha"
"let's go then..." Tony answered as she led her to a black Mercedes parked just outside the gate.
Sasha was shocked, she honestly hadn't expected Tony to be driving such a car.
Maybe she had misjudged the place, Sasha thought as she climbed into the car.
Tony on the other hand had noticed her reaction. A reaction she was well accustomed to by now.
she sure doesn't dress like it, Sasha thought as they drove away from the college.
they both weren't ones for small talk and so the rest of the ride was pretty quiet.
They pulled right in front of their house and Sasha got out thanking her for the ride. she turned and started walking towards the gate and heard Tony yell
" There's a party this Friday night at the old town house near the swamp, you could come if you want"
she turned to tell her no thanks but Tony had already driven away.
Back at the house Mandy was chatting happily to Nana about a certain new teacher called Miss Grady whom she really liked.
Sasha peeped through the door and saw their heads close together looking at drawing Mandy had made for Nana.
Nana tickled her and she giggled endlessly.
She looked once more and sighed , they seemed so happy. she couldn't remember the last time she had smiled or laughed.
she turned and started up the stairs to her room.
exhausted she slumped on the bed and closed her eyes. She could feel a headache creeping in.
That was the punishment she got from walking in the sun.
the doctors had specifically warned her not to expose herself to too much heat.
It wasn't good for her health.
She took her phone out and replied a few messages from Liam.she fell asleep not long after that while still holding her phone to her chest.
" Sweetheart you can do it,,
put your right foot on the peddle and don't forget pull on the break when you want to stop" her mothers voice said to her
she couldn't quite make out her face but she could see her mouth widen in a smile.
Sasha felt herself fly
She peddled happily and heard laughter from behind her.
"yeey you did it baby"
she struggled to push her tiny feet again and again towards her mama.
suddenly she was going too fast, she tried to pull the break but it wasn't working.
she tried to scream but no sound came out. The bicycle continued moving at a high speed.
she was going to crash ,her heart was beating faster and just as she was about to crash she woke up screaming.
Her clothes were wet and she was sweating profusely.
It was just a dream she consoled herself.
She had started having these dreams a few months earlier.sometimes they came as memories of her childhood especially with her mom and sometimes they were a nightmare.
Both often happened when she was stressed about something or over excited about something.
The doctors had warned her about that and had told her that at the late stages she would even experience hallucinations.
Most of her dreams were her childhood memories that she couldn't quite remember awake.
Sasha got up and looked at her watch, it was already six o'clock in the evening.
she had slept for four hours.
somehow nobody had even heard her and she felt relieved.
she didn't want anybody s pity.
she didn't want many questions either
Though she guessed that somehow Nana knew about her illness.
Of course he would tell Nana about it.
she realized she still hadn't changed her clothes from school so she got up and went to change.
Her room was dark, she walked towards her closet switched on the lights and screamed.
