Chapter 7 The End

It was already like that. They fell in love so hard with each other but they cannot be together.

Heartache.

Pain.

Displeasure.

Pleasure.

"We are both cheating with our women, what should we do?"

Wang Yibo wanted to annul the arranged marriage with Tin Veeh but he has no reason to do it. He badly wants to be with Xiao Zhan for the rest of his life.

He called him before he went to sleep. It was already late at night.

Xiao Zhan sat on the floor outside the balcony, threw pebbles with no aim while holding his phone at the other hand, listening to Wang Yibo's voice at the other end.

Since he went to B City six months ago, they already agreed to be in a relationship, and have had constant communication every day since then.

To build a strong connection between them, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo collaborated on many projects such as building malls, hotels all over the country, and condominiums.

With that, they can be together publicly in times, eating and laughing together with other partners or simple meet-ups for the projects.

The affection between them was so strong and valid. Xiao Zhan wanted to settle himself with Wang Yibo. He was going twenty-nine and wanted a home with a partner in it.

"I broke up with Kim Chin," Xiao Zhan replied. He did not love her so he broke up and told the truth. He was guilty of cheating with her so he broke up because he doesn't want her to hope for a future with him.

Wang Yibo's heart ached. Now he's the only one cheating. "Baby, tell me what should I do? My mother is sick and I'm so afraid that she will break down if I break the engagement."

Xiao Zhan closed his eyes. His heartfelt like it was pierced by an iron claw. But he softly replied, "I will wait until you are free."

Time and time passed away.

Wang Yibo was driving aimlessly in the middle of the night. He felt hopeless for not having a solution to his problem. He has money and power but he cannot be with the person he loves the most.

This made him broke inside and desperate.

While passing in front of an expensive restaurant, in a dark corner, he saw a familiar figure of a woman with a man hugging her from the back and kissing her cheeks while caressing her breast affectionately.

They looked both drunk.

Wang Yibo froze and did not know what to do for a second. When he regained his composure, he took his cellphone and recorded a video of her with the man. He zoomed in the video to catch her face clearly. Then he took some photos from many different angles.

Perhaps there was still a solution.

Wang Yibo smiled and drove his car home.

His heartfelt at ease for the first time.

The following days, tabloids and social media all over had the same news and that was Tin Veeh's cheating behind Wang Yibo's back.

Of course, Wang Yibo did not miss the rare opportunity, he broke up with her for a reason.

Tin Veeh could not make any excuses, she was caught in the act but never did she know that Wang Yibo was behind the reason for her sudden exposure.

After all, he was still evil with a damn good look.

After three years of being in a secret relationship, Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan decided to go overseas and got married abroad. There are things that cannot do with money, and that was the China law against same-s*x marriage.

But it cannot stop them from loving each other, isn't it?

They have too many ways in hand to see each other, whether in public or in private. The best thing was that they were capable of showing their feelings to each other.

No one thought that the collaboration was because of uniting as husbands.

Once a year, they spend a month-long vacation abroad and spend the days together as a married couple.

With contentment in their hearts, they disregard being a secret couple in their own country.

In twenty years of marriage, Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan surprised the country.

When the law against same-s*x marriage was lifted in the country, they announced their marriage twenty years ago.

People were shocked and dumbfounded.

"I wanna show you something, baby," Xiao Zhan said and smiled with love to Wang Yibo.

Xiao Zhan took the big portrait under his bed. He wrapped it with a red gift wrap. He brought it to the shop days ago and made it laminated before he wrapped it.

"What is this?"

"Your forty-third birthday gift. Open it."

Wang Yibo doesn't have any more wish to have in life, let alone a simple gift but this was from his lover so he opened it with so much happiness.

When it was revealed, Wang Yibo's jaw dropped to the ground. His eyes widened.

"This is..!"

"Do you remember that time?" Xiao Zhan asked, smiling then he played a video on the widescreen. A video of Wang Yibo while surfing on a beach, twenty-three years ago.

"This. Baby why do you have this?!" Wang Yibo was in a daze and could not believe his eyes.

Xiao Zhan touched the portrait and the man he drew on a surfing board. He answered, "I called this painting 'My Ideal Life', because this is the life I want to be in the future, living a simple life. While I painted this painting, I saw a man on the other side of the beach, surfing alone. I took my camera and took a video of him. Once upon a time, I fell in love with this unknown man and so I drew him in this portrait. And my portrait became perfect after I added the man in it. Maybe because it was you from the beginning of time."

Xiao Zhan turned to Wang Yibo and hugged him, "I fell in love with you the moment I set my eyes on you."

Wang Yibo's tears fell uncontrollably and he responded, "Once upon a time, I fell in love with a man in the restaurant on that beach. I don't know him but I fell in love with him the moment I set my eyes on him."

He copped Xiao Zhan's face and whispered under his breath, "I fell in love with you even before knowing you."

Perhaps it was fate.

"Zhan, thank you for making me complete." In his heart, he was truly grateful and very satisfied.

"No need to thank me, it's because I love you."

Both their hearts was not in turmoil anymore. They were free.
