Their Dark Beginning

In the World of Endless Night, there is a hierarchy that has been set in place since the olden times. Werewolves still have their pack, whilst Vampires who are the rulers of this world, have their own special way of dealing with in-house matters. Vampiric figureheads known as Kings and Queens rule over the states, and they have their own courtsmen (and women) that help them to control both the vampire and human population. Humans are treated much like cattle, although those rich enough are left alone in areas of the city designated as “Cattle-Farms”. Cattle farms are safer areas for humans, filled with luxuries to keep the lessers happy while they pay the vampires to leave them alone. Figureheads often leave these territories alone, because it draws money in for their personal use. It is a status symbol in this world for a King or Queen to have many “farms” in their territories, a sign of massive wealth. This world is a harsh place, where vampires constantly fight for dominance as other races attempt to knock them from their golden pedestal. Werewolves are second, the most powerful beneath the vampires. Vampires, known as “Purebloods”, are constantly in a love/hate relationship with that of the “Shifters”. Werewolves are the muscle that protect their way of life, while Vampires are the wealthy conspirators behind the politics. Purebloods and Shifters have a truce, called the “Alliance”. The rules are as follows; No Shifter may kill a Pureblood, and viceversa, unless given permission by a King/Queen or Alpha. Alphas and King/Queens hold the same authority over an area, unless otherwise noted by the Council. (Authors Note: the council being the eldest group of vampires and werewolves that make the decisions behind the scenes) Purebloods and Shifters may have interspecies relations. When an Omega mate is claimed, on either side, they are to be protected. Omegas are rare species and should be treated as such. Shifters and Purebloods must respect this natural, innate law. There are also rules on the way of the more social side of the world; as more complex social structures are in place. Beyond the realm of Werewolves, everyone is cast into their own social hierarchy. True Alphas rule the world, but an Alpha isn’t just a werewolf term nowadays. True Alpha genes can appear in any species, though human trues are often ignored and put in their place since humans are regarded as pets and cattle in this universe. True Alphas, Betas and Omegas exist outside the Shifters. Alpha, Beta and Omega categorized 85% of the population, whereas the rest do not have heats or scent glands. Those of this caste are significantly stronger than 45% of the overall population, even Omegas (the weakest of the 3) are stronger than humans and most races. With True Alphas at the top, there are also Betas and Omegas. Beta are the most populated common rank, with Alphas being uncommon and Omegas being rare. Omegas are precious in this world, as they are incredibly fertile and can give birth to immensely strong children. They are also said to boost the power and fertility of a bloodline, and are coveted by all. Even Mortal Omegas are sought for, and controlled by Shifters and Purebloods. The rules are as follows - - It is forbidden to steal a claimed Omegan Mate from their True Alpha. - Betas may not claim an Omegan mate without permission from their stately figurehead. - Betas and True Alphas may freely mate and have relations. - Concealing gender or status is forbidden. - Suppressants are frowned upon, but usable in some cases.
