Honestly was sitting down, working on his laptop, when a lady walked into his office.
“Good morning, sir. A lady is here to see you,” she said politely.
“What’s her name?” Honestly asked without looking up.
“Vicky, sir.”
“Send her in.”
The lady stepped out and returned with Vicky. “You can go in,” she said, leaving them.
Vicky entered. “Good morning, sir.”
Honestly sat up immediately. “Hi, good morning. Have a seat.”
“Thank you,” Vicky replied as she sat down.
“So… how was your day?” Honestly asked.
“Fine,” Vicky answered. “I brought this file about my modeling stuff… and also my script.”
“Okay, let me see.” He collected the file, opened it, and scanned through it. “Wow… you are talented,” he said with a small laugh.
“Thank you very much, sir.” Vicky smiled. “What about the job?”
“Well,” Honestly began, “your position is still vacant, but there are rules.”
“Okay, tell me please,” Vicky said eagerly.
“Here,” he said, giving her a paper. “Have a look.”
Vicky read through the paper carefully. “Okay… I accept. It’s fine.”
Honestly leaned back in his chair and reached into the drawer. He brought out a neat brown file, placed it on the table, and slid it gently toward Vicky.
“Good then,” he said with a small smile. “I brought out the file. Sign here.”
Vicky nodded quickly. She took the pen he offered and bent over the document. Her handwriting was careful, almost nervous, as she signed her name.
“Okay,” she said softly. “I’m done.”
Honestly pulled the file back to his side, glanced at the signature for confirmation, and closed it with satisfaction.
“Welcome to our industry,” he said warmly.
Vicky’s face brightened with excitement she couldn’t hide.
“Thank you, sir,” she replied, her voice full of gratitude and hope.
Later that evening, Vicky’s apartment was glowing with excitement. She sat in the living room with Sophia and Sugar. A bottle of wine was open on the table, and the two friends were sipping slowly while talking about Vicky’s new achievement.
Sugar lifted her glass toward Vicky with a playful smile.
“Congrats, girl!” she said, laughing.
Vicky giggled softly. “Thanks, baby.”
Sophia moved closer and hugged her tightly. “I’m so happy for you! Girls, this man is truly God-sent. I mean it. Who on earth would believe that Honestly is such a kind person?”
Sugar nodded eagerly. “I swear, God should really bless him.”
“Amen, amen, and amen,” Vicky added.
Sophia leaned forward, curiosity in her voice. “So… when are you starting?”
Vicky shrugged lightly. “It should be next Monday.”
“Oh, so it’s still far,” Sophia said.
“Yes,” Vicky replied, taking another sip from her glass. “But I still have a lot to do.”
Sophia leaned closer to Vicky, studying her face with a satisfied smile. After everything Vicky had gone through, she finally looked calmer, lighter—free.
“Wow, this is better,” Sophia said, nodding approvingly. “I hope you will finally delete that rubbish from your life.”
Vicky’s apartment was unusually quiet—until Evans’ voice broke through the silence.
He was furious. Before Vicky could react, Evans shoved her, yelling as he advanced on her. She stumbled backward, fear flashing in her eyes.
At that exact moment, Honesty pushed the door open. He froze when he saw Evans hitting Vicky.
Without thinking, Honesty rushed forward and grabbed Evans, pulling him away with force. Evans swung at him in anger, but Honesty pushed him back harder.
“Stop it! What are you doing?” Honesty shouted, breathing heavily.
Evans glared at him. “Just stay out of this! Besides, who the hell are you?!”
Vicky’s voice trembled as she cried, “Evans, leave my house! Go!”
Evans smirked cruelly. “Babe, you want me to leave because of this man? Really?”
“I just said you should leave!” Vicky shouted, her voice breaking. “Leave and never come back again. I don’t want to see you again. Just leave!”
Evans shook his head, laughing bitterly. “Fine, I’ll leave. But you won’t find true love. Nobody would want to be with you, you rubbish!”
His words cut deep, and Vicky’s chest tightened. She turned away, tears streaming as Evans finally stormed out and slammed the door behind him.
Vicky collapsed onto the sofa and began to cry uncontrollably.
Honesty walked to her slowly and sat beside her. He placed a gentle hand on her back.
“It’s okay,” he whispered softly. “Just… calm down, okay?”
She leaned into him, still trembling, but his presence brought a small sense of safety.
Honesty watched Vicky quietly. She had been crying for hours, sitting on the edge of the bed, her eyes swollen and her spirit drained. He moved closer and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“Come on, Vicky… cheer up,” he said softly. “You’ve been like this for hours now. How could he do that to you? Such a reckless man doesn’t deserve you. You’re too kind to be betrayed.”
Vicky sniffed and wiped her tears.
“I feel so stupid… believing he loved me. I never knew he didn’t.”
“It’s okay,” Honesty said, rubbing her back. “At least now you know the truth.”
She managed to calm down a little, taking a shaky breath. Honesty reached beside him and lifted a file.
“You forgot this at my apartment,” he said, handing it to her. “So I brought it back.”
Vicky looked at the file and nodded.
“Thank you very much… How can I ever repay you for this kindness of yours?”
“There’s no need for that,” Honesty replied with a little smile. “But… can I ask just one favor from you?”
Vicky looked up at him. “Sure, as long as it’s something I can offer.”
Honesty swallowed and then spoke more softly.
“How about… you go out with me? A dinner date. Please?”
Vicky hesitated. “Sorry, Honesty… but I don’t think—”
“Please,” he cut in gently. “Don’t turn me down.”
There was a long moment of silence. Vicky took a breath and finally nodded.
“It’s okay then… I accept.”
Honesty’s face lit up instantly.
“Thank you,” he said with a wide smile. “I’ll pick you up by 9:00 p.m.”
“Okay,” Vicky replied quietly. “I will be ready then.”
“Alright. See you then,” Honesty said, before leaving the apartment.
When the door closed, Vicky sighed deeply.
