Chapter Seventeen

     "Kennah," Ashton nudges me, my eyes shooting open to see him shirtless and standing over me. "Are you okay?"     My head is no longer pounding, and the nausea has ceased. "Yeah," I grumble, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "What are you doing here?"     "I couldn't sleep in there alone," he whispers. "I missed you."     My heart skips around in my chest, my eyes widening at his words. I want to say something back to him but I find myself at a loss for words.      "Can I stay in here?" he asks me, quietly. "Just for a little bit."     I nod, moving over in the bed so that he has room beside me, and I feel him crawl under my blankets with me. I lay, facing him, our faces inches from each other on the pillows. His arm hangs over my waist, lightly skimming over my lower back.      "T
