sera's pov i'm laying in my bed thinking about the new school i'm going to. it's kind of exciting, a new adventure. my dad is against it but my mom managed to convince him. it's the weekend and  im bored as hell. my phone starts to ring and i saw who was calling, it was my best friend Isla. i answer it " hey girl" "hey isla" "what you doing?" "nothing, just thinking about how boring my life it without you" "awww i miss you too but i have a surprise for you" "what is it?", i ask, being intrigued "i said it's a surprise i can't tell you, you just have to come to my house" "ughhhhh it's so far away though" even though her house is next door "just come over" "ugh fine" i say as im getting up. after hanging up i got dressed and headed over to her house when i got there, isla was already outside waiting for me as always. we've been best friend since we were born. our moms are best friends as well. isla sees me and starts to run toward me and hugs me like she hasn't seen me in forever when we just saw each other last night. "yay you're finally here sera" yup now where's my surprise?" "hold your horses okay, we first have to go inside so i can explain the directions to you" directions? what is she talking about? "what direction? what are we doing?" "it's a surprise but fine ill tell you. it's a scavenger hunt to find your present. i hid it somewhere and you have to find it" "seriously? i have to find it?"  "yup" "great", i said sarcastically she handed me a piece of paper with clues on it. it was really well drawn and very easy. "this is going to be easy" i said 30 minutes later and i couldn't find shit "you made this so difficult", i said to Isla "i thought yo said this was going to be easy" she said laughing "well i thought it was going to be" "do you want some help?" "yes please" i said with puppy dog eyes she just laughed "ok you see the lake on the paper?" i nodded "well you have to go to the lake and find something that looks out of the ordinary, it's very easy. for someone with straight A's i though you would have been able to figure it out" she said with a chuckle "haha" i said without the enthusiasm when we got there i immediately spotted what we were looking for, it was a ball that we used to play with when we were younger. i just laughed when i saw it and isla just smiled the next clue, we had to go to our favorite ice cream parlor.  when we sat at a usual booth, i saw a necklace. it was beautiful. a few hours past and my hands were full of things that i found during the hunt. by the time we were done it was already dark "now time for your real surprise" i was confused "what? i thought this was the surprise" "nope, it was just a distraction for the real one" she opened my house door and held it for me to come in. it was dark but i could smell all the sweets and snack and other wolves in the house. then the lights turned on and everyone screamed surprise. i really was though, it takes a lot to surprise me my parents came up to me and hugged me "happy 18th birthday sweetie" "thanks mom" i said "did we surprise you?" my dad asked 'yeah you did i never even suspected it. how did you do it?" "well um your best friend came up with the idea. she is very smart" mom said "that she it", i said looking at her then everyone came up to me and started saying happy birthday and hugged me and gave me presents. i was really happy and had a lot of fun. when the party was over, isla stayed the night and we watched a bunch of hallmark movies and ate a lot of junk. we eventually went to sleep.  the next morning, we woke up and ate breakfast. after breakfast we went for a run and came back in the afternoon. it's sunday which means i need to get everything ready for school tomorrow which i'm excited for.  isla and i are going to the same school so we're helping each other with everything we need for tomorrow. "are you excited for school tomorrow?"i asked isla "yea but im also nervous" "same but i'm a bit more excited than nervous." "what are you going to wear tomorrow? i already have my outfit picked" "i have no idea"  "do you need help? i can lend you some clothes" "that would be great isla besides i need to go shopping for more clothes" "ladies, dinner is ready!" my mom yelled from downstairs "coming!" we yelled back after dinner, isla left to her house and i went to my room to get ready for bed. i took a shower. brushed my teeth, and put my pj's on and flopped onto my bed and fell asleep. next thing you know it's morning and school starts in 2 hours so i got up to do everything i needed to do.
