Chapter Five

1152 Words
Aria's pov That night, I stood by the window watching the moon rise, and then the door flipped open. "Mother, is all well?" I asked her to walk up to her. "Yes, my dear." Luna heaved a sigh of relief. "Your uncle mustn’t know about you and your sisters, he won’t be able to differentiate you three since you are identical." "One person leaves at a time." "Yes, Mother," my sisters and I answered in unison. I have watched my mom while growing up. She looks happy and plays with us, but deep down I could feel she isn’t happy. The nightmares she always had but always failed to tell us about. According to the seer, she said my mother’s third child will be the cause of my uncle's end, but I keep wondering how I can be able to kill him. I woke up feeling the echo of Ethan's scent in my dream. I should have given him a chance to talk to me. He was the first friend I had, but I'm scared about going closer to him. I shouldn’t love; it breaks the sacred rule I and my sisters swore to our mother. "Aria, get dressed before the driver arrives." My mother's words broke into my thoughts. Oops, I almost forgot it’s Wednesday. I will be attending school that day. I hurriedly dressed up and waved at my sisters and mother. I went down the hallway and outside the castle where the driver waited. His name was Zed. I didn’t like him for a bit. He had this dark aura. His huge muscle protruded out of the T-shirt he wore. He has physical features like Ethan. But he is far different from Ethan. I haven’t seen him laugh. He always looked angry, dangerous. Most times I’d think he knows about me and my sisters, but he doesn’t like talking. I stepped out of the car and I caught sight of Ethan. He stood at the gate. It seems as if he had been waiting for me. Our eyes met and the world stilled. I felt the urge to look away, but the bond pulled harder. I could hear his heartbeat in my head. He walked up to me. My wolf danced inside me as he approached. "Aria." My heart skipped as he called me. His voice was calm. I noticed his beard for the first time and his handsome, round face. I wasn’t able to notice all this while, but I think it’s the bond. Could it be that he is my mate? I wondered. No. I’m not supposed to have a mate. "Can I meet you later after school? I need to have a word with you," he said. "Alright." I shrugged and entered the school premises. The thought of him made me nervous ,I wondered what he wanted to talk about. I didn't tell my sisters about him. I can't.Although we discussed with each other about everything we encountered any time we stepped out. But I didn't talk about him, I never gave him a chance to even speak to me that day so what then would I have said… “Wait he said he likes me”.My wolf suddenly reminded me. I shouldn't love , that's the rule I'd put my sisters and I in danger. My mother warned us about that. But then again I wondered when all this will stop, are we going to continue hiding forever?. “Should I tell Ethan I'm a wolf princess?I have 2 identical sisters?.should I tell him about the prophecy?. That we have been caged since childhood . No I can't tell him that's our secret ,which is not meant to be spilled out. All this thought roamed through my mind . And then I heard the school bell ring for dismissal. Zed always arrived after 20 minutes. He has other jobs he does. So I only have 20minutes to talk to Ethan. I went to our usual waiting spot. I sat under the almond tree and watched the children. Then suddenly I perceived a familiar smell “Its him ,he is here He sat beside me “You don’t know anything about me,” I whispered. “I want to,” he said. I turned to him, and his brown eyes locked onto mine. My wolf stirred immediately. I looked away almost at once. “You should really stay away from me.” “Why?” he asked. I frowned at his question, unable to find a suitable answer. “I’m not supposed to feel what I feel… it breaks everything,” I said, my voice barely audible. Help? He said he wants to help He stretched forth his hands as he slowly grabbed mine into his, I looked at him My breadth, my thought stopped as I felt his warm hands as they held mine. I froze not because I wanted to stay but because my body betrayed me.. His touch wasn't just warm, it felt like home, like a memory I never had but somehow missed… I quietly withdrew my hand from his … Then I heard a horn, oh it was Zed I stood up ,Can I come with you he asked? I let out a laugh and shook my head as I hopped into the car and left. By the time I stepped out of the car, I hurried inside the castle. I just needed to get to our chamber needed to calm the storm inside me, the storm Ethan’s presence had awakened. As I walked down the hallway, I saw a huge figure. I froze. Standing at the center of the grand hall was the Alpha. Tall, huge, broad-shouldered danger clung to him like a second skin. My wolf growled loudly inside me, uncontrollable, threatened just by the mere sight of him. Her rage was hot and burning; she had never reacted like this before. I stumbled, gripping the wall, trying so hard not to let her out. The Alpha turned slowly, his silver eyes locking onto mine. His expression wasn’t angry. For a full second, neither of us moved or spoke. He took one step toward me. I didn’t back away; I kept my eyes on him. He stepped even closer, and the moment he did, my wolf slammed against my chest, ready to jump out. He stopped, studying me for a long moment, then turned and walked away. His boots echoed down the hall. He didn’t say a word. When the hallway finally emptied, I exhaled and rushed to our room, closing the door behind me. My wolf still paced restless and angry. “Aria,” Lara whispered. “What happened? Your energy… it’s shaking the room.” “The Alpha,” I breathed. “He felt something inside me.” Lara’s eyes widened. I swallowed hard. “My wolf almost attacked him.” Silence. Fate has just started moving.
