Hidden From The Alpha King

The moon hung low, its glow spilling through the windows of the fenrath castle. There on the throne sat Alpha Aldric, the king everyone feared. The wind blew violently as the door flung open. The royal seer, an ancient woman, was being dragged into the throne room by two guards. She trembled at the sight of the king, her cloudy eyes dazzling over the throne room as if she was looking for something. There was silence, but the roar of the king awakened her as she was terrified. “What do you want here, old woman? You asked for an audience, The seer took a deep breath, clutched her staff, her voice cracking with fear as she spoke. “My king… the moon goddess has spoken. A prophecy has been revealed…” Aldric leaned forward, his eyes gazing dreadfully at the seer as he spoke. “And what prophecy is worth disturbing my peace, old woman?” “Your death, my king.” He let out an evil smile as his face darkened ,he adjusted from his throne his gaze was directly on the seer, which made her feel uneasy. “You are right, seer. Death always stays with me. We share a unique relationship.” What do you know about death? asked the seer. Death takes away people like you and punishes them. “What punishment will it give me?” “Your end will be born in your home.” The king rose, his wolf surged beneath his skin. He clenched his claws, the wind blew heavily, his eyes turned black. As he rose, “Who dares try to kill me?” The seer choked in fear as she began shivering. She knew the king’s wolf had been woken. She was silent. She didn’t know what would be her fate if she continued. Her attention was brought back by the advancement of the king. “Speak, woman, or you won’t get a chance to speak again.” The seer continued, her voice suddenly deepened, echoing like two voices speaking as one: “The one who will kill you is living in your sister’s womb. Your death will come in the form of your sister’s third child. The third child of your sister will end your reign. The curse of the prophecy will be sealed by the moon’s blood-red cry.” Her words pierced the walls. Alpha turned sharply to the guards, his eyes burning in fury. “Bring me my sister!” he roared. In minutes Luna arrived at the throne room with her husband, Jairusa. “There is a prophecy that your third child will lead to my end,” his voice echoed venomously. “How is that possible, Alpha? My third child will take your life?” Jairusa said. “The seer said it, and I have to believe it.” “Did you hear your brother? This is too much. He wants to kill our child.” It’s better to stop the child from being born than to kill it later. I have had enough. We can’t stay here any longer. I’m taking you away from here. Jairusa grabbed his wife’s hand in an attempt to leave . Alpha immediately slit his throat with a sharp dagger, his blood Jairusa’ lifeless body fell to the floor. There came a loud cry from Luna. The mere sight of her husband’s lifeless body on the floor pierced her heart. She felt a sharp pain in her belly as the baby in her womb kicked so hard. It was as if the baby was aware of what was happening,the danger that loomed. She kicked so hard, which made Luna fall down in pain as she mourned her husband. Her cry of anguish echoed through the entire kingdom. “Go ahead. My sister won’t go with you.” He walked towards his sister. “You are the only one I have left , dear sister. You won’t go anywhere.” “You are going to be a mother. What’s the need for him now?” he said, pointing at the body on the floor. He was the one who got you pregnant,he continued. Now he is gone. There is no need for me to be scared now. Neither your third child will be born, nor will my life be in danger.” *** A few weeks later, King Aldric waited patiently in his throne room, waiting to welcome the new baby, as the time for his sister to deliver was here. In a hidden chamber, queen Elowen’s labour began. After much effort, finally there was a cry of a baby in the delivery room. Her maid servant that helped her gasped in horror. “My queen, you gave birth to three daughters,” she whispered to her in shock. Queen Elowen screamed in pain as the newborns arrived. Three girls, three princesses, three heirs. The prophecy was true. My precious daughters, you must live. I will protect you. The maid servant went to inform king Aldric the birth of his sister according to her orders . “My lord ,your sister gave birth to a girl child “. The maid servant informed Alpha she acted on the instruction given to her by the Queen not to disclose the birth of the 3 girls rather she should announce it was one baby. They were to keep the birth of the triplet a secret. He was on his way to see the child, but suddenly there were gunshots. A group of human police officers crashed in. Officer Loe tackled him to the ground and handcuffed him. “You are under arrest for the murder of Alpha Jordan!” the officer shouted. The guards were set to attack but on the sight of the guns pointed to them by the police ,they retraced their steps. Alpha howled with rage, his eyes burning with blood as he was whisked away. Back in the hidden chamber, the queen clutched her daughters tightly, sobbing.When she heard of Alpha’s arrest, she heaved a sigh of relief. Her face lit as she decided to flee with them. She was in shock, she trembled in fear, the earth shook at the cry of her girls.
