Placing my hand on Lyssa's lower back, I walked her over to my bike.
"Come on, I will take you back to my place."
Turning, she raised an eyebrow and stared at me for a half second.
"Hmm…"
Turning back around, she walked the rest of the way to my bike.
"Your place, huh?"
Helping her get settled on the back of my bike, I handed her one of the two helmets I had. I had actually bought it for her a week or so ago, with the idea of taking her for a ride, but hadn't gotten around to asking her, and today seemed like a good day to give it to her, since she was going to be on the back of my bike. Fortunately, I had also gotten one for her, because my helmet wouldn't have protected her, as it was too big for her. Climbing in front of her, I pulled on my helmet and got ready to go.
"Yes, my place."
Placing her hands on my waist, she leaned into me, holding on as I brought my bike to life and took off. A handful of the guys followed us out, making sure we got back to my place fine before circling back to the restaurant to ensure my dad had all the help he needed, just in case Ray and his dad decided to do something stupid, which was another reason I was taking her back to my place and not to hers. It was also the reason Emilia would be staying with D for a few nights. Not only did my gut tell me those guys were trouble, but so did my dad's. We didn't need either of the girls at the house alone if either of them decided to show up. At least until we were sure the guys were out of town and things calmed down.
I know it's something I should tell Lyssa, but I wanted to let her calm down more before laying out my own worries on her. But for tonight at least, I planned to distract her, or at the very least, try to anyway. Starting with showing her my place and maybe making her dinner. We can worry about a change of clothes and that tomorrow. For tonight, she could wear one of my shirts.
Pulling my bike up into my garage, I helped Lyssa off the back, taking her helmet from her and placing it on the shelf next to where I kept mine. Hitting the button for the garage door, I made sure it closed before walking her inside through the door that attached my house to my garage. My house wasn't anything fancy. It was a single-level home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Walking in from the garage, you entered the laundry room and went from there straight into the kitchen and dining room area. Going through there, you had to go through a door that I could leave open if I cared to, but I didn't, and usually kept it closed, into the living room. Off the living room, you had to go up a couple of steps that led into a hallway where the guest bathroom was, and across from that was the extra room. Down the hall was my room, with an attached bathroom. Again, it was nothing fancy, but it was mine, and having Lyssa as the first person other than my family and MC brothers inside it made me a little nervous. I never brought girls back to my place. This was my space, and I didn't share it with many people.
Then again, having Lyssa in my space seemed natural after I got over the initial nervousness while showing her around. Almost as if she belonged there, and it wasn't just my space, but our space. Even the two of us standing in my kitchen making dinner together seemed natural. I told her she could sit while I cooked, but she didn't last more than a minute before getting up and starting to help me. Not that I needed the help, but I also didn't stop her. Besides, I wasn't really that good of a cook, so it was probably a good thing she helped. Our dinner turned out a little more edible than it probably would have been if I had cooked on my own. When we were done eating we cleaned up together, again I offered for her to let me do it.
Heading into the living room, I let her decide what we watched. I didn't pay for the streaming services like she did, so our options were whatever was on the basic television channels or one of the many movies I had lined up next to my television. Honestly, most of the movies were still in the wrappers, even. I didn't watch much TV. I was usually going down one rabbit hole or another, either on my own or for my dad and the club. And that meant using my laptop more than the television. Still, I liked to pick up movies as I saw them on sale, thinking one day I would watch them. And for tonight, that came in handy, as Lyssa picked a couple of movies I hadn't yet seen, and we settled in together on my couch to watch them.
