Lyssa Sleeping in Goose's bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Or at least what I imagine sleeping on a cloud would feel like. Don't get me wrong, I liked my bed and it was comfortable. However, Goose's bed was soft yet firm. You sank into it, yet it wasn't so soft that you felt like the mattress was swallowing you up. It was firm enough to support your body just right. It was so comfortable that I slept so soundly, I didn't hear Goose's phone or feel him get out of bed. I stirred a little when the shower in his bathroom came on and thought about getting up to see if everything was alright, but I was so comfortable that I decided not to get up. I planned to wait for him to come back out and ask him then if everything was alright. Only I didn't hear him come back out because I had fallen back to sleep. I only knew he had finished in the bathroom because he leaned over me, brushing his fingers lightly across my face until I stirred a little bit. "I have to leave for a little bit. Do you need to be anywhere today?" Nodding, I sighed. Reaching up with one hand, I buried my fingers in the still-damp hair on the back of his head, pulling him down closer. Leaning farther down, he brushed his lips over mine. Shifting his body so he was leaning farther onto the bed, his hand disappeared from my face so he could use it to support himself over me. One of his knees dipped into the bed to help hold him up so he didn't fall over as well. "Where are you going?" "My dad needs my help. Where do you need to be today and what time?" Using my free hand, I tried to run my fingers over his chest, but was met with cloth and leather. Opening my eyes all the way, I looked down, noticing he was fully dressed. Pouting, I shook my head. "Stay. The sun isn't even up yet." Pushing my hand up and under his shirt, I ran my fingers over his chest and abs. Cursing under his breath, his free hand moved to my face, holding me still as his lips crashed into mine in a hard, passionate kiss. His phone ringing only a few seconds later had his hand disappearing from my face only seconds before he was pulling away, a few more curse words being mumbled under his breath. Both of us looking over at his phone. Only the light was too bright in the darkness, and I ended up closing my eyes against the brightness before I could see the screen. He had shoved his phone back into his back pocket before my eyes could adjust to the light. His hand returned to my face, his mouth covering mine again for only a fleeting second. "I have to go. Where do you need to be and at what time?" Sighing, I pulled my hand back out from under his shirt. "I have class at noon, but I have to go back to my place for a change of clothes and my books." Lightly brushing his lips over mine, he pulled his hand away from my face. "I will be back in time to take you." His phone started to ring again. This time, he didn't bother pulling it out of his pocket to see who it was. Instead, he pulled away from me altogether, my fingers slipping out of his hair as he stood up. "Go back to sleep." Turning, he didn't wait for me to respond before he walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him. I lay there listening to him move through the house and out through the garage. The doors made a sound as they opened and closed. His motorcycle came to life, the sound carrying through the slightly open bedroom window, allowing me to listen to it until he got down the street and too far away. Sighing, I rolled over, trying to get comfortable again. Not sure I would be able to fall back to sleep now that I was awake, even though it was still clearly dark outside. Grabbing my phone, I checked the time to see it was just after four in the morning. I now wish I had gotten him to tell me what his dad needed his help with so early. What could have been so important in the middle of the night? And how was I going to go back to sleep now, thinking about it? Turning over again, I set my phone on the end table. Lying there for a little bit before rolling over again and again. At some point, I must have fallen back to sleep because I woke up again a few hours later to the sun shining in the window. But that wasn't why I had woken up. What woke me was a sound in the kitchen as if someone else was in the house. Thinking Goose was back, I climbed out of bed and headed down the hallway, through the front room, and opened the door between the front room and the kitchen. Stopping in the doorway, I froze. Goose was not who was here, but his mom was. She was standing at the counter, pulling groceries out of bags. Or at least that's what she had been doing before I opened the door. She was now standing across the kitchen from me, looking me over. The fact that I was only wearing one of Goose's T-shirts over my panties was, I am sure, not going unnoticed.
