The Fairy's Christmas Fairytale.

Chapter 6

Iridessa

After Mr Clausen left, I got back to work. I had a ton of paperwork that I had to do. And I had the grand opening of the new branch that I was still working on. So I got busy working, but before I got too far into work, I set an alarm on my phone so that I'd have time to stop and get ready.

I had been working for about an hour when Lavender knocked on my door and then came in. "Hey, I just got an email from the main desk at the main building. I guess that Mr Clausen had gone there first before coming here. That's how he knew to come here. Bethany said that she didn't have a chance to send us an email or call before now. She had that big group of school kids that showed up for the tour and has been busy. As soon as she got a chance to she sent an email to let you know about him. She said that it was weird because he didn't even know who the owner or CEO was. Just said that he was in town and wanted a chance to talk to you. I told her you had already seen him today. And let her know that it was ok that she didn't get a chance to tell us before now. Those kids can keep you on your toes," she said.

"Right, that's why I have people hired just to do the tours now. It takes way too much out of me doing them. I mean, I plan to have kids one day. But two or three is way different to deal with at a time than a couple of hundred at once. I'll pass on that s**t. And yeah, it's fine that she let us know when she could. I'm actually meeting with him tonight. He said that he wanted to talk about a business venture between our companies. But I think that he just wanted to spend more time with me. That's the vibe that I was getting from him anyway. There's just something about him that feels familiar. I cant figure out what the hell it is. I'm sure that if I were to release my magic, I could figure it out, but I dont feel like I can do that around him. I can sense magic in him. Hell, I'm pretty sure he was trying to use magic on me, but couldn't. And he wouldn't be able to, since I am the next in line to be queen. That's part of the reason I'm going tonight. Well, that and he's hot and intrigues me," I told her.

"Let me know when you head up to your apartment. I'll go up with you and help you do your hair. That way you dont have to use magic and have it be detected. It won't take too long to get your hair all done. Or your makeup, for that matter. Now back to business so that you can get done and out of here. I got all of the candy canes handed out to the ones that we had decided on. We had a couple that didn't get them this time because they didn't fill out the paperwork last time. As soon as I handed these out and told them that they could make a cup of cocoa to put them in, they were all for it and went to make it. I've already gotten three papers on my desk about them. I also tried one, and I'm ready to buy a few boxes of them. Those are so freaking good, especially in cocoa. It gives it just the right flavor with a hint of the alcohol that you use in them. But you can taste the peppermint and the mocha both. I cant wait to see what you come up with next for them. I bet they'll be good," she said.

"Oh, I have a whole notebook full of ideas that I've been playing around with. I've got another one that I'm going to make tomorrow. I may end up doing two different ones; it just depends on how long it takes me to get them done. I love the process of making the candy. I like it better than all of this paperwork s**t that I have to do. I'd rather be in my kitchen," I told her.

We talked for a few more minutes before she left to go back out to her office. Her office was right outside of mine and was pretty much all windows, with the exception of the door. But she had electric blinds that she could put down, and no one could see into her office.

After she left my office, I got back to working on the paperwork. I had been going pretty steady with it for a while now and had most of it done. It wouldn't take me much longer to get the rest done. But when there was a knock on the door, I had to stop. "Come in," I said and looked up to see who it was.

I was surprised to see my uncle walk in the door. "Hey, Uncle Rowan, what are you doing here?" I asked him. It wasn't normal for him to just drop by during the day. Usually, he is pretty busy with his own work.

"Hey, kiddo. I figured that I'd come to see you in person for this conversation. I got a call from your mother today. Your sister Flora found her mate finally and they are getting married soon. Your mother made the comment that she really wished that she could find you because you should have been married to Santa's son already. And that it was a bunch of s**t that you're now denying your sister your presence at her wedding. I told her that what was a bunch of s**t was the fact that she got to meet her mate, fall in love, and get married. And now your brothers and sister get to do the same thing. But yet she expects you to get married in a contract marriage. That she seems to think that it's ok that you dont get your mate when it's a bunch of s**t. I told her that she's acting like dad did with me. She's trying to force you into a marriage that you dont want, just like he tried to do with me. I made it quite clear that I'm on your side with this. And that if I ever found you, I'd hide you before I turned you over to her. That really pissed her off. But it brought me great joy. I also told her that I thought that it would be funny if your mate turned out to be a woman. Because that would really piss her and dad off if the next rulers were both women. I think that's why Dad is pushing for a contract marriage. He's afraid of that happening, and it's not even his damn line that rules its moms. Now I know that you'll be mated to a man, be it would be funny to see all the same," he said.

"It really would be funny. Maybe that's what I need to do. Find someone who is a supernatural being and have them play the part of my mate and show up for the wedding. It would ruffle quite a few feathers, wouldn't it? I'm not going to go, though. I will watch it from afar. But I'm here to tell you that my sister won't care that I'm not there. She's always been pissed that I was the one born with the mark of the next ruler. She thought that she deserved to be the next queen. Someone as weak as her could never be queen. She lets people walk right over her. Once I find my actual mate, I'll show up to get my crown and put them all in their places. For now, I have a date that I need to get ready for. The rest of this paperwork can wait until tomorrow," I said as my alarm went off.

"A date, with who?" he asked me. So I filled him in on the conversation that I had with Mr Clausen today. We talked for a few more minutes, with me promising to come see him and Uncle Hector in a few days. After he left, I headed upstairs to get a shower while Lavender walked down with her dad. When she got back up here, she would help me finish getting ready. Man, was I nervous.
