Chapter 2

Chapter 2 (Nicholes POV)  Hi,  I’m Nichole. Summer might have mentioned me in her  part of our diary she always does we are best friends after all!  Like she said before I do go out for them.  Growing up I was training to be a warrior. When I was young I went into the kitchen and got the knives and started pretending I was in a battle swinging it everywhere.  This was until my mom came downstairs and grabbed the knives out of my hands. That was before she...she died.  But enough about me. You might know my name but you don’t know how old I am and you don’t know what kind of person I am.  I’ll start by telling you how old I am. I’m 14 the same as summer. Well, here's a bit about me.  Before the war, I loved playing softball. Actually, I play a lot of sports. I’m really athletic. I also love adventures. I’m like a little rocket. Blastoff, I’m gone.  I honestly really want to go out into the war and fight. But of course, girls aren’t allowed to join the army which I think is totally unfair. Don’t you? Well anyway, I’ve got to go run some errands bye.  ~  Guess what happened when I was gone. Nothing!  Oh, I am so glad.  Whenever I go out my worst fear is that I am going to come back to nothing but never do. Oh some troops are coming i'll try to write a bit later. ~ I’m back.  Something really bad just happened.  Summer’s parents went out.   It’s been 5 hours since they left and we are really panicking.  Now we are hearing gunshots.  I t’s really scary to be in a position like this.  Then I heard a sound in the distance.   I knew it was the King’s Royal troops and whenever they come they have captured some of the villagers and are coming to hang them, shoot them, or make them slaves.   I think they have captured Summer’s parents and some other poor people.  But of course, I can’t tell her.  It would break her heart and I can not let that happen.   And then I saw them.  I couldn't believe my eyes.  Not only had they captured Summer’s parents they had captured other adults and there were probably about 50 children walking in a line in chains.   It was heartbreaking.  I had to do something because these weren’t any ordinary children, these were the children from the local orphanage in town.  It was horrible to watch it all.
