 Emily’s POV  And just like that, the doctor walked out, leaving me sitting there, frozen.  I don’t even remember how I made it out of his office. One minute, I was crying to him and the next, I was walking down the hallway with tears streaming down my cheeks.  Everything around me felt like a blur, from the white walls, to the faint beeping of machines somewhere down the corridor. My chest ached, and my throat burned from trying not to sob too loudly.
