Chapter 14

1109 Words
Aiden told her what he thought she needed to know, and that was him making himself out to be a hero. He left out the part where he had ostracized her father, though. He simply thought it didn't concern the matter, even though he felt she should be grateful to him for punishing the man who had disrespected her. "Right. You just made things worse," Diana told him, a bitter taste filling her mouth. Her father had sold her twice, just to the brother with the highest bid. Tears gathered in the corners of her eyes, yet she forced herself to breathe deeply, trying not to break down in front of him. The man who had once been her hero was now her worst enemy. Or maybe Aiden was. She wasn't sure who she hated more. Aiden didn't reply. He let her get in touch with her emotions. It was actually nice seeing her at the point of breaking, except that it wasn't because of him. It was because of her father. Which simply meant that she loved him. Would he ever have that? The love of this... woman. Not that he needed it for anything good, but it would be nice to have her care about him. Even though he intended to get a laugh out of her misery in the end. How would it feel, though? For her to want him. To desire him, not just physically, but with her heart. Oh, he would do anything in the book and out of it for her heart. That was mischievous. Wanting so much from her without any intention of giving anything back. But he was a monster. It was something he enjoyed doing. His phone beeped, and he smiled. The dress he'd ordered for her had arrived. Actually, it wasn't a dress... It was lingerie. Exactly what he'd asked for a few minutes ago by texting Vincent, even though he hated having to send him the message. Red lingerie for my Luna. Sexy as hell. Imagine how you'd want your crush to look in it. That was exactly what he had sent to Vincent. And he'd just texted back. It's here, Alpha. In her room. He was excited, an excitement that almost broke through his carefully maintained character. "Your outfit is ready. I'll give you time to rest up for tonight's party. You'll find what you need in your room," he told her casually, trying not to let the excitement slip into his tone. He only hoped she wouldn't notice the corners of his mouth twitching. "Aiden?" Her voice suddenly became uncomfortably serious, as though she hadn't even been listening to him. "Yes?" "What would it take for you to leave me be...?" He raised a brow at her question. Did she really think he would let her go for anything? She didn't understand her situation. She was his trophy. What athlete willingly lets go of their trophy? Perhaps a better illustration was that she was his prey. "Diana. Go to your room," he ordered her, not wanting to speak about the matter anymore. Except Diana had no plans to let it go. It was like some type of nut had come loose in her brain. "The five million dollars, perhaps. What about I give you ten million and you let us both go?" She sounded desperate. This time, her eyes were heavy with tears. Balls of them rolled down her cheeks when she blinked, one after another. She was crying. She was in pain. Good. Maybe not so good. It didn't feel like a win. It just felt weird, like he was a terrible bully. This wasn't what he wanted. Now he felt insulted, thinking she could buy herself back. Even though he could have sworn she didn't have the money. Another crazy idea crossed his mind, and he decided to say it out loud. "Money. I think I have enough of that, my dear. Why don't we try something else?" he said naughtily, his eyes travelling over her body as though she were a beautifully decorated cake. Diana's face contorted in instant disgust. "No. I will not sleep with you! I'd rather die!" she snapped, her voice so sharp that it affected Aiden, leaving him fuming. No woman had ever said those words to him. "Right. Perhaps you're not ready to save your mother!" he snapped. He didn't mean to sound so evil. It was simply an outburst. Diana froze. She would do anything to save her mother... Even if it meant sacrificing herself. Wait... Why did the thought sound so bad? And not so bad at the same time? It was almost like a tiny part of her wondered what might happen, or what it would feel like to be with him. To have him inside her. The fact that he was experienced put far too many thoughts into her head. No. She could not let him see that curious part of her. If she was ever going to sleep with him, it would be because there were no other options. And it would be for her mother. "If I do it... Will I still become your Luna, or could I leave too?" The question irritated Aiden. It was the way she sounded as though this were nothing more than a business transaction. "No," he simply said. "No? No what?" "I changed my mind. I don't wish to sleep with you." Diana was thrown into confusion. He paused, his expression hardening. "Actually, you will be my Luna. And I will keep your mother in the dungeon to keep you in line. You, my dear, are way too stubborn. You will be an obedient Luna. You'll do everything I say." His eyes narrowed. "And if we ever fuck... you will enjoy it. Oh, I promise you will. You'll enjoy it so much that you'll desire me every second afterward." She. had to laugh. It came out as a wheezing laugh, because she found it almost ridiculous that he was making such a promise. Yet that curious part of her felt threatened by her own senses. Could he really do that to her? Could he really make her obsessed with him? God forbid. That could not happen. No. Perhaps she had to escape sooner rather than later. She would not let him sleep with her. Then it came back to her mind. Aiden's mother telling her that she had a plan. His mother promising to help her and her mother escape. Perhaps it was high time she met Aiden's mother and asked her about this plan. Because the sooner she could leave with her mother, the better.
