Chapter 23 - Desi Ghee
“The native language of the local village people is Hindi of the Urdu variety,” Darlana explains to this young library woman, a light hand on Pratima’s forearm. “And the town raises Jamuna Pari bakri goats,” Pratima nods, though the older woman cannot see that. “There is also Bhadavari buffaloes and our Desi ghee.”
“Yes, it as a clue that caused us to first worry about what was going on here, because William found some ghee from here.”
Darlana smiles. What could Rahkki have been thinking? That these young people were a threat? Just a serious interest in our village is all I can gather.
“Tell me about your buffaloes,” Pratima asks. “Your goats are the ones the ghee is made from?”
“This district is known for our goats, ”
Lomash interjects, “Also our buffaloes.” H
