THE MIST

it was 3 more hours before I Graduated High School. I was anxious to get out of this Hell hole. *psst* *psst*. I looked to my left. and saw my Buddy Donnie. Donnie has been my freind since 7th Grade. I have been talking to recruiters for the past 2 weeks. and now it was happening. As the time drew closer to the end of the ceremony. Donnie was called up. I immediately snapped back into attention. He grabed his diploma and shook the principals hand in gratitude. I was up next. My hands were really sweaty from the anxiety. I walked up to the principal. Grabbed my Diploma and shook the principals hand. I took my picture and walked over to my seat. Finally its almost over. All that needs to be done now. Is the Bow and I'm outa here. The principal called us all out. we bowed and threw our caps into the air. As I walked out of the building. My buddy Donnie walked up to me and asked me what I was going to do with my life. I simply told him I'm joining the Army. I returned the question. He had no response. I shrugged my shoulders slightly and walked away. My mother and Father picked me up half a block away from the school. We drove home for about 10 minutes. As I got home. I went to my room. I started to pack my Essentials I would need for the Army. I packed my toothbrush, toothpaste, and a book. Tommorow is the day I go And officially Enlist in the United States Army..
