Episode1
"I'll make sure to teach them a great lesson! They'll never forget this in their entire life!" Juliet yelled as she paced up and down in the hallway.
"My best friend Sonia, having an affair with my husband? I can't believe this!" She fumed angrily as Patricia tried to calm her down.
"It's alright sister. Don't be too hard on yourself. I'm sorry you had to find out this way."
"For how long have you known this Patricia?" Juliet asked, searching her sister's face for answers. Patricia looked away and began to feel guilty.
"Actually Sis, I have always wanted to tell you. However I didn't want to be the reason for which your marriage would collapse."
"Damn! I have always suspected that Paul was having an affair! I never thought it would be with my best friend! Never!" Juliet yelled as a gamut of emotions coursed through her. With trembling hands, she scrolled through her phone and put a call through to Paul's mother.
"Your son is a cheat! I can't continue with this marriage any longer!" She said after Emilia Coles had answered the call. Without waiting for a response, she immediately hung up and switched off her phone. Afterwards she threw the phone on the sofa close to her.
"Juliet please relax your mind. You shouldn't have said that to Paul's mother."
"At this point I don't care about anything Patricia! To hell with Paul and his family! I care less!" Juliet yelled and sat in the sofa as her feet trembled under her.
"I saw them. They were really enjoying themselves. I ruined their good time, didn't I? She was seated on his laps right there in his office. They were smooching and moaning. Was I terrible in bed?"
"This is not the time to find any fault with yourself Sis. Please calm down, would you?"
"Don't tell me to calm down! Did you tell me when you got to know about their affair? You hid everything from me only for me to find out this way!" Juliet accused her sister.
"I can as well say that you're a traitor."
"Juliet!"
"Shut up! You have betrayed my trust Patricia. I want to be left alone."
Patricia knew there was no need convincing her sister anymore. Whenever Juliet was in a state like this,it meant she was very angry and could do anything. This was what Patricia feared. She remembered that while they were kids,Juliet had tried committing suicide after her friends laughed at her for not being able to answer a question in class. Juliet's fury was on a different level and her parents had made sure she wasn't left alone at anytime.
Slowly, Patricia walked away from her sister, while doing everything possible to keep her eyes on her at the same time.
After thinking that her sister was out of earshot, Juliet stood and looked around to ensure that Patricia wasn't monitoring. Slowly and stealthily, she walked to the kitchen.
Patricia knew that her sister was going to do something funny and quietly followed after her.
She had not been quick enough to get there early. All she could see was Juliet lying on the floor, with blood oozing from her hand. She had slit her wrist.
"Juliet!" Patricia screamed.

Emilia Coles had called Paul for the umpteenth time however he had refused to answer. He already knew why she was calling. She shivered as she remembered Juliet's words.
"Mum, I suggest we use a different number to call him." Nicole suggested.
"You know how smart your brother is. He wouldn't answer any strange calls at this time."
"You're right. But what exactly did he do?" Nicole asked.
"I wish I could answer your question. Juliet just hung up without any form of explanation. Her phone was off when I tried calling back."
"So what would happen if she backs out from the marriage?"
"Think Nicole, think. The Brownies would make life terrible for us. We would lose everything. You know their marriage is based on a contract."
"Can't we just run away?"
"To where?"
"Any country at all."
"You speak as though you don't know how powerful the Brownies are. They have contacts in almost every corner of this country and at this point,we can't do anything funny. We would risk it and the situation could get worse for us. All I want is for Paul to answer his call so I can at least know what to do." Emilia Coles said worriedly. As she sat in the sofa, many thoughts run through her mind. She wished her husband was still alive. Otherwise she wouldn't have to go through this moment of confusion. Her late husband always had a solution for every problem they faced when he was still alive.
As she was still thinking about a solution, she sat up suddenly when she sensed her phone vibrate in her hands. She trembled when she saw who the caller was. Quickly, she breathed in and out before answering the call.
"Hello Mr Brown. I believe your family is doing well."
"Keep your greetings to yourself. I just called to inform you that your son has been arrested for attempted murder. See you in court Mrs Coles." He said and hung up.

Simi was staring in her books however nothing seemed to be entering her memory. She felt she was wasting her time and needed to rest. She turned on her bed and Diane barged into the room.
"Is everything alright?" Simi asked as she realized how distraught Diane looked.
She sat on Simi's bed and sighed.
"I have to go home this weekend. I learnt my cousin is not feeling well and has been admitted at the hospital." She replied.
"Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that."
"Sorry? Don't feel sorry for that spoilt brat. Even though she's married, her parents still treat her as though she were still the infant who was birthed years ago."
"What do you expect Diane? They are her parents and certainly have authority over her. You don't expect them to abandon her when she needs them, do you?"
"That's not what I mean Simi. They still treat her like a baby. She is a married woman for crying out loud."
"Okay, I understand your point. So what time would you be leaving?"
"Simi, can you please go with me? Please!" Diane pleaded.
"You know very well that people like us don't mingle with people like your cousin's family. I wouldn't feel comfortable."
"But Simi, this is why I need you to go with me. Although they have servants in the house, Juliet just likes to send me around as if I were her maid. With your presence, I could get an excuse to return quickly to school. Please understand." Diane explained.
Simi looked on as her roommate tried to coerce her. The thought of going to see the Brownies made her shudder. She wondered how they were going to receive her. Mr Brown was a wealthy lawyer who was admired for his ability to win cases in court. He hardly lost a case no matter how complex it seemed to be. His wife on the other hand was a great fashion designer. She designed and sewed clothes for people home and abroad. Together, they had built a conglomerate of companies that was into the importation of crude oil into the country. They had spies and contacts everywhere and were very wealthy.
Their daughter, Juliet, was in charge of the companies that were into crude oil. She was the executive director and was admired in the country. She mostly appeared on TV shows and talked about entrepreneurship most of the time. She also advised the youth to be bold and chase their dreams.
"Please say yes. You'll go with me right?" Diane asked and Simi rolled her eyes, causing her friend to burst in laughter.

"That man would surely pay for what he has done to my daughter!" Mrs Brown fumed angrily.
"Don't worry about that my Dear. The police have already arrested him." Mr Brown said as the whole family sat with Juliet in the hospital. She had regained consciousness few hours earlier.
"My pretty princess, I would never allow any man to treat you unfairly. He would regret ever hurting you." Her mother assured her.
Patricia shifted uncomfortably in her seat. Her parents had rushed to the hospital from the airport after learning that their daughter had regained consciousness. They were on a flight from a different country before Juliet was admitted at the hospital. When they had asked about what had happened, Juliet had told them a lie. She had said Paul had fought her and pushed her to the ground. Her parents had believed her and got Paul arrested immediately. Patricia knew her sister was lying however she dared not say anything. Her parents would believe her sister's report over hers.
"How do you feel now my angel?" Mr Brown asked and Juliet smiled. She had always been her father's little angel and he worshipped the ground on which she walked. He didn't want any harm to come near her. Right from their childhood, he had always treated her with so much love and given her everything she needed. Even Patricia was sometimes jealous of her sister.
"I'm very well Daddy. Thank you for asking." Juliet answered him, grinning from ear to ear as she lay on the hospital bed.
"Daddy's girl." Her mother teased.
