I spent the next few hours talking with the kids. All the younger kids warmed up to me right away. Mia is the only teen that is willing to talk to me.
Well, Joey talks to me, but I can tell he's guarded. I don't blame him, and to be honest, I'm glad he's that way. At least he's trying to be cautious when he can.
I told all the kids about the outside world. It's been so long for most of them. Ben is the only one that even remembers what the sky looks like. Claire and Bryan have never seen the outside world.
I learned a few things about what's going on here from listening to them too.
