Miko Right now, I look like a completely different girl. Dressed in tiny, white lingerie and daring white fishnets, I wasn’t sure I’ve ever looked this hot before. Thin silver chains clung to my neck, and the rest of my body was oiled up. My hair was held up from my face, soft curls framed my smokey eyes and my lips were a bold red. By the time the spotlight landed on me, I couldn’t believe the screams that went up in the air. It spurred me on and made me move more freely. I was able to look in the crowd without growing shy because of the masks covering their faces, and I threw my head back as I arched to the music. Roars went up and money filled the air. I felt a deep, intense gaze on me, almost like a caress and I shivered, swaying my hips and burying my hands in my hair as I slowly strutted to the front as practiced— while the other girls took the pole. I didn’t join them, cause I’d have to actually learn to actually pole dance for me to do that. While the other girls did impressive tricks on the pole, I stayed on the ground, my hips swaying and my back arching to the music. Out of all the hundred gazes on me, I still felt that intense one, slowly raking over my skin and boring into my body. I shivered again, spinning a little… and then my eyes landed on a masked face at the back of the room, hidden in the shadows. His mask was black, with golden highlights and gleaming stones. His large muscles filled out his half buttoned shirt, almost rippling it, and he was relaxed in his seat, a finger slowly stroking the rim of his glass. But it was his eyes through his mask that made my heart pound fast. They were dark, intense and electrifying and I felt another shiver coursed through me when our eyes locked. My face flamed and I looked away fast, but my heart kept on pounding, and I felt his gaze on me throughout the rest of the routine. At some point while dancing, it almost felt like I could feel his fingers lightly teasing me through the lingerie. That thought made my insides grow hot and I found myself subtly pressing my legs tightly together, and by the time we all got off the stage, I looked in the direction of that man… and he was gone. I tried not to dwell on the feeling of disappointment within me while accompanying the girls back to the dressing room. “Girl, you killed it!” “You were a f*****g natural!” “How can that be your first time on stage??” All the warm words that echoed around me from the girls made me suddenly feel a strong urge to cry from happiness. It’s almost weird to tear up right after such a show, but those reassuring words touched me emotionally. The door burst open before I could respond and madame Willow, the woman who made me join the girls tonight walked in briskly, looking pleased as hell. “Girls! You all did well tonight and most of you got private requests. Especially you, Miko and you’re up first.” My eyes widened from shock. “Me?!” The woman nodded, clapping fast. “Yes! Everyone loved you and our highest spender of the night also requested for you! So, are you interested? It comes with more money than dancing.” I bit on my bottom lip, already looking for a way to turn this down. Dancing was one thing, private services feel more serious and that’s not just me. “I appreciate the requests but I’m gonna have to turn them down.” I mumbled carefully. Gasps filled the room, madame willow looked shocked, then furious, but as she was about to say something, the door burst open again and in walked a man. “The boss has sent for her.” He spoke bristly, pointing at me and I almost fainted. All the girls instantly looked terrified, and my heart fell into my stomach. Did I do something wrong? “What? Why? Is the boss mad at her? She didn’t do anything wrong!” Madame Willow spoke fast, looking uncomfortable. “I don't know, but it honestly sounded like she’s in trouble. Don’t keep him waiting.” He directed the last part at me before leaving, and my legs wobbled underneath me. The panic within me tripled as I struggled to breathe. All the girls spoke around me at once and as I listened to them openly panic. It was clear their boss was terrifying and I just knew that I was in deep s**t. “Dear, don’t worry, it’s gonna be fine.” Madame Willow whispered almost apologetically to me as she led me to where I assumed was the boss’ office. I was too frozen from fear to muster a response. All that I felt within me was regret. Maybe if I had turned down the offer to fill in for a stripper when I wasn’t one, this wouldn’t be happening. Maybe the boss watched my performance and was uttered displeased by it. Maybe Sean was right and no amount of lingerie or makeup can make me desirable. “Good luck.” Madame Willow murmured after arriving before a large, oak door, then she walked off and left me to my fate. My hands shook as I pushed the door open and stepped in. It was pitch black one moment, then lights flooded it the next second. My heart flew into my throat, my back remaining rooted to the door. My eyes landed on the figure across the floor length glass window, where a man stood in front, his back facing me. Is that the boss? He suddenly turned around and I gasped in shock at the sight of that same masked man from the back of the club. In here, his mask looked scarier and I felt a strong urge to run, especially as his eyes slowly raked over me once again. “Hello, Miko.” His deep voice rumbled as he perched on the edge of the desk. My eyes widened. “Y- you know my name?!” “Of course I do.” He chuckled and reached up to pull his mask off. It was like the world stopped as his face slowly unveiled. I completely stopped breathing, my mouth falling open from utter shock, cause standing in front of me right now was— “H-hunter?” I whispered, blinking in disbelief. Hunter Bellingham, hockey living legend and Sean's older brother was right here, staring at me. Hunter was the one who intently watched me dance like a complete slut back there. My face quickly flushed at that realization and I suddenly felt naked as hell in this flimsy lingerie. “W- what are you doing here?” I finally managed, and my breath caught in my throat when he smoothly moved, closing the distance between us to stand right in front of me. Up close, his musk and cologne filled my lungs, making my head spin as I stared into his bottomless eyes. “You danced beautifully.” He husked and my face flushed again. I panted raggedly, shivers rolling down my spine when he stepped even closer, and I have no idea why his close proximity was making me feel so overwhelmed. “But that’s not why I’m up here in an office that doesn’t belong to me.” He continued, his fingers reaching out to lightly tilt my chin up. “I’m here to make you an offer.” I swallowed hard, my head spinning. “An o- offe—“ “How do you like your revenge served?” He cut me off, his voice deep and steady. I blinked a few times, disbelief swirling through me. “What?” His finger tilted my chin even higher, and he slowly grinned. Dark, devilish, and scary. Another shiver rolled through me, and my insides suddenly felt hot. There was something about him, like he was controlling the air around him with sheer authority and intense presence. I almost couldn’t look away and I struggled to breathe when he leaned down. “While you danced beautifully back there, and had everyone eye f*****g you… I could tell your heart wasn’t in it. Was it because you got a quit notice from your landlord?” He revealed and my blood instantly ran cold. “I know you’re broke, and would need a place to stay soon.” The chill in my veins blended into the confusion now sitting in my chest. “A- are you mocking me? And how do you know all of that?” I questioned, my eyes flashing. The shivers I felt a moment ago are gone, and now I felt utter irritation. His lips twitched. “I know all of that and more. I know you dropped out of college when your father got arrested. I know your mom is in the hospital, and in need of money for surgeries. I know my brother played and dumped you. Do you want me to keep going?” My mouth hung open from shock and I struggled to breathe. “I— what? H- how did you…” “Cause I just know stuff, don’t try finding out how.” He husked and I stood frozen in shock, my heart racing as I eyed him suspiciously. I should get out of here now, without looking back. “What do you want with me?” I bit out instead and his eyes bored into mine, his fingers moving from my chin to lightly ghost over my cheek. “Let’s crush Sean together.” “What?” I echoed, my mind struggling to keep up. “Do you not want revenge against someone who made you lose your job and home after breaking your heart?” He asked, his head tilted. “You won’t have to keep doing this if you agree to my offer. After all, I could tell tonight was just out of desperation. I’ll make you a better offer; work as my waiting maid in private, and my fake girlfriend in public.”
