Nish
I was strolling through the park when
I saw some kids picking on a little girl. She was all alone and crying.
The sight of that little girl just flipped something inside me.
I went over there and put those bullies to their places befor talking with the little girl.
" Hello there. Are you okay? They won't bother you anymore okay. " I asked her but no response. I crouch down sitting on my knees in front of her. " Are you hurt? Why are you crying dear? " again no response. " You can talk to me if it's ok. " I let out.
" Mamma said not to talk to strangers " she let out without looking up.
" Well your mamma taught you right. " I said. Finally she looked at me.
She has black root blonde hair, blue eyes, almost 3 feet tall, medium build for her age. She was wearing Brown pants and blue & pink top with a dark green jacket and purple shoes.
" Hey I'm Nish. What's your name? “ I introduced myself and asked her. But she just hung her head down again." It's okay, I just wanna help " I said hoping she would talk.
" I'm Mili " she said in a muffled voice, ' Mili, such a cute name for a cutie. '
She said she has two mothers but her mamma died last year in an accedent. ' Oh.. poor thing. '
She was five and here in a field trip with her class. She told me that those kids were from her class and would always make fun of her, she never complained though. But she wasn't crying because of them making fun of her but she misses her mamma. She wiped her tears with those tiny little hands.
I don't know why but it hurts me to no extent to see her crying. I just sat down and gave her a big warm hug, she didn't reject the hug but hugged me back. I keep holding her until she calmed down.
"My teacher is there." she told me and pointed towards a tree.
I looked over to where she pointed. And saw that one of the teacher knew me ( well who didn't eh..just joking) and waved ' Hi '.
She said that they were leaving soon but her home was near so her mommy was coming to take her home.
We bonded pretty quick. I felt some connection to her, love for her like she is mine.
She said she and her mommy would come here on sunday mornings and asked me to join them. So I agreed.
I gave her my personal number and asked her to call if she needed me.
Just an hour of acquaintance felt like forever.
She jumped off the bench and ran to a fine women - I assume her mommy - when she saw her coming. She told her mommy what happened.
The woman was wearing black jeans and a over sized long sleeve shirt with dark blue vertical lines and heels. She was like two inches taller than me without heels. A mix of brunette &blonde hair, green eyes, white skin.
No-one would suspect she have a 5yr old daughter. Hmm...
When Mili finished briefing about what had happened earlier she looked at me. And she walked towards me with Mili in her hand.
We shook hands and introduced ourselves.
'Hazel' hm.. it's nice to finally put a name on that beautiful face. Beautiful name for a beautiful lady.
Despite her beautiful smile her eyes hold sorrow, quite understandable actually, since she lost someone she loved but can't even take the time to morn them because she got a child to take care of.
We got acquainted.
Then said our goodbyes.
When they started to leave I felt sad. My little cutie was leaving, who knows if our paths will ever cross again.
But to my surprise Mili came to me and gave me a heart whelming hug and kissed my cheeks which I returned happily before going back.
Her mother rather seemed shocked by the exchange of love between her daughter and a stranger with love and hinges of sadness in her eyes.
I spot a tear drop in her eyes as she left.
Hmm.. I wonder why?...
