In just one year so much had happened. After Kieran... our life was lifless and I was a mess.
Losing the person you love wholeheartedly is the worst because you don't know how to go without them, how to be happy, how to live. It can destroy the you.
But I kept going for our little angel.
She was the only thing kept me alive and sane.
And then Nish came to the picture.. kind, generous, compassionate, loving...
We became a family within a blink of an eye. Nish and Milis relation is so adorable. They love each other to death.
Nish loves Mili as her own and to Mili they are a parent as well.
Mili knows Nish is nonbinary , she learned all about it. She celebrated Nish on father's day as me on mother's day.
We spent Christmas at my parents house. On the Christmas eve we were sitting outside around the fire with marshmallows chatting away, sharing stories.
Thats when mom pop a question about Nishs family.
They said it's different back home, because of religion etc. But still everyone is considerate of all traditional holiday some celebrates, some don't. They celebrate only their religions holidays. But on schools and work places they celebrated all equally. And it was lot of fun.
As they were speaking I could see they pain in their eyes behind that smile. Then they bid goodnight and excused themself to bed. I followed after sometimes to check on them.
I opened door to a dark room with one glowing dim light on bed side table. Mili was sleeping there alone. I look around spotting Nish on the balcony looking out into the sky in moonlight.
I closed the door carefully not to make any sounds and went there opening the sliding door silently and closing it.
When I got to Nish I saw tear drops glowing in the moonlight aching my heart.
I never seen Nish crying, they never shows that vulnerable side, but this is the second time I've seen them like all vulnerable.
I touched their sholder pulling them to a hug. To my surprise Nish puts their arms around my waist crying against my chest.
I try cooying them down, caressing their hair.
I knew why they were crying. I asked if they wanted to talk but they nodded 'no'. So I tightened my arms around them.
We stayed like that until they calmed down. We needed no words to understand each other.
Then we went inside to see a half awake Mili, I closed the door behind me.
"Did we woke you up princess?" Nish askede sliding bedside her.
"Why are you crying ?" Mili asked in her sleepy voice. as she cuddled closer to them.
"Mom was just missing their family." I answered.
"Don't cry you have us." Mili said wiping the tears that had fallen from their eyes and places a kiss on Nishs forehead like a mother and snuggled closer.
"I Love You Mom" Mili said.
"I Love You More Princess" Nish said snuggling back.
I could only feel my heart melting away and eyes tearing as I watch them being adorable, then I slid on the other side of bed watching them.
The next morning my heart skipped a beat waking up to seeing Mili sleeping on top of Nish who's hugging her back. They seem so peaceful and adorable.
So I get out of the bed to capture this very cutness on Nishs camera that they bring everywhere. Then woke em up.
We went downstairs to the Christmas tree with a very energetic Mili for exchanging gifts we bought each other. My parents gifted the three of us matching PJs.
