Zachary's POV
I was sitting on the sofa beside the window looking in nowhere while Eric was walking from one end of the room to another.
"Who was that Zach?" he exclaimed looking at me with widened eyes. I didn't answer him because I was thinking about, who the hell was this guy and what he needed in Alex's room? And if he sneaked out from the window probably he is undercover...I need to find this guy. And in that second I was interrupted from my thoughts by annoying none other than Eric.
"Hey! Are you listening to me?" he shouted.
"Uh..." I scrunched my nose.
"Yeah, this is what I thought!" he rolled his eyes.
"Oh, stop it! I already said I don't know but I will gonna find out this soon as possible...alone" I said.
"Wait, wait, wait, are you saying that you now ditching me?" he grimaced.
"No. I am saying that you are...unhelpful and you are acting like a child...most of the time" I said straight.
"You son of...What's that?" he wanted to curse me but then his eyes fell on the floor near Alex's bed.
We both stood up and went immediately to the object. I picked it up, it was an empty tiny glass bubble with a note on it.
"What it reads?" Eric asked.
".....sleep potion?" I said, confused.
Eric's face went from serious to shocked, "Potion? a..a sleep p..potion?!"
"Yes..." I breathed out.
"Holy s**t! Ha! Suck it up, Zach! Are you saying I am not helpful! I am a goddamn detective!" he exclaimed.
"Oh shut the f**k up! Why sneaker needed a sleep potion?" I asked myself rotating the bubble.
"And you are calling me the stupid one? huh, it's obvious that the guy whoever he is used this potion to make Alex fall asleep" he said crossing his arms.
"This makes sense..." I sighed.
"Of course it makes sense! It seems that the sneaker wanted our dear highness never to wake up" he stated.
"Why would he need it?" I asked.
"Argh! I don't know! Maybe he needed to make the king asleep to do something..." he said curiously.
"If it is the truth...we need to do something!" I stood up looking at Eric.
"Um, duh, we should wake him up before it's too late. Maybe that guy wanted Alex to be anxious until...he dies" Eric glanced at sick lying Alexander.
"Why do you say that?" I asked him looking worried for my brother.
"Because sleep potion is not safe to consume, if you take it you should sleep for one day only! but if you are anxious day after day...your energy will fade away and strength and...heart will stop ." he exhaled.
"F**k!" I shouted rubbing my face.
"And how we can wake him up??" I screamed at Eric who stood there without showing any emotions.
"A kiss...The truest kiss of a loved one will wake him up" he said casually.
"What?" I screamed.
"uhuh..." he said rubbing the back of his neck.
we stood together for about five minutes while thinking about who can wake Alex, and then I remembered the worst and painful memories...at the ball when I saw Alex and Eve dancing and feeling passion for each other...I felt it.
"Eve..." I breathed out.
"What?" Eric asked.
"Eveline," I said in a calm voice.
"no, what if it's not her! Maybe it's Mirena who is still feeling something towards Alex." Eric said ruffling his hair.
"No...she loves him...so does he," I said in a calm voice.
"Bro, I feel pity for you."
"Don't be, it's all my fault, I should've no invite her after promising to accompany Riley" I said feeling like s**t.
"Zach, come on dude, Riley is that b***h, everyone knows that she likes you and if she likes something...she has it," he smirked.
"Whatever, she is Alexander's sister"
"Oh don't you even say that she is his half-sister, she doesn't like Alex, she didn't even come to see him! And after this, you are telling me that she is his sister?" he laughed sarcastically.
"Alex deserves to be happy...you remember him how he felt after Mirena...It can't happen again."
Eric nodded, "And you? what about your happiness?" he asked me.
I shook my head slowly and stood up, "I will talk with Eveline...go rest, tomorrow we have training with her.
"oh man," he clapped me by my shoulder before leaving and shut the door.
I laid near Alex and took his hand in mine and whispered, "I need you brother...really need you"
