Jaidyn had opened a bag of chips and was devouring them.
“Stop, stop, stop,” she munched.
I took a handful as I waited for her to elaborate.
“Who saved you? What happened to Zedo? Who is the biker guy? What happened to him?”
I shrugged, “Just listen and you'll find out.”
My eyelids fluttered open and the bright light stabbed into my brain. I tried to lift my head but it weighed a million pounds and just dragged me back down.
A small hint of something that smelled like rotten eggs masked by something sweet and floral wafted through the air.
Slowly my eyes adjusted to the blinding light and I began to survey my surroundings. There were no windows in the room, just a large metal door that was left ajar. A fluorescent hanging lamp was casting the shadow of the bed I was in and a shabby old bookcase against the dusty brick wall beside me giving the whole area an eerie look.
I heard heavy footsteps approaching and panicked, the memory of the car and the water rushed back to me. A million theories of who my rescuer was occurred to me but the most prominent was that he was a sea monster.
