Uh Oh

He raised his eyebrows clearly annoyed at having to wait so long to enter and pushed past her stepping into the room. “Ive been meaning to ask you something.” his voice was so deep it was barely audible but he spoke very slowly stretching out every syllable painfully. She gulped nervously and pointed at me still sitting at her desk. He smiled dangerously in my direction and somehow every one of his teeth ended in a sharp point. “Who is our guest?” I wriggled uncomfortablely as his large frame approached me. His breath smelled like fermented smoke and I leaned away choking. He reached for the hat on my head but I firmly planted both my hands on its brim. “This is mine.” At my words his smile faded to an even deadlier scowl. FaithAnn touched his arm lightly and whispered “I was going to buy that.” He shook her off roughly “That shows how much you know.” He pulled a g*n out of his belt and pointed it at my temple. I was beginning to wonder where everyone got these guns and if I should get one. “Give me the hat Ace,” he growled. I rolled my eyes and ripped off the mask. “For the last time I'm not ACE!” My final word echoed around the room and out the open window into the peaceful yard outside. ACE ACE Ace… I pulled the cowboy hat off my head too and held it out the window behind me. He c****d the g*n but I didn't flinch. “Shoot me and you lose the hat.” We all glanced out the window and looked at the driveway below where the hat would probably land and be smashed to bits. But if I threw it, it might land in the river a little further and be swept away. A few figures the size of ants were roaming about down there, unaware of the predicament I was in above them and right now I really envy them.
