CHAPTER 3 - ANNOYING FREAK

SEOUL HIGHSCHOOL

GRADE 12

Kim Sera was studying on her seat as usual since it was a free period while the class was noisy.

Then James came in and sat beside her. She looked at him confused, and remembered that he was her seatmate for the time being. She immediately went back to her books.

"Hi Pomeranian" James smiled, staring at her.

Sera didn't bother answering him.

"Did you know that if you keep on frowning, you'll grow old easily?" James asked even though she'd ignored him at the beginning.

This time, Sera just looked at him and wanted to snap but she kept quiet and rolled her eyes.

James couldn't help but chuckled.

"What are you reading?" James asked looking at the books infront of her.

But Sera still didn't say anything. Instead, she started drinking the water that was on her desk.

"The granny from yesterday thought that you were my girlfriend" James said, making Sera choke on the water she was drinking.

"Ewww,nooo!" Sera blurted.

James started laughing and everyone in class stared at them.

"Why? Ain't I handsome enough to date?" James inquired, leaning in with his face close to hers.

Sera stared at his close face and couldn't disagree that he was handsome. Even his red lips were tempting.

She immediately pushed his face away.

"You're very annoying, can't you be quiet for once?" Sera queried.

"Nah. Being quiet is not in my vocabulary" James replied, smiling.

"I can't even differentiate if he is smiling or smirking. He keeps on smiling" Sera muttered to herself, staring at her books. But James heard it and chuckled.

"Here" James placed a candy on her desk.

"What's this for?" Sera asked, looking at him confused.

"Don't think I'm trying to make a move on you, Granny said that I should give you the candy cause she thought you looked lovely" James said.

Sera rolled her eyes again as she heard the first part of his sentence.

"Anyways, visit her sometimes when you're free. She lives down the alley" James said before resting his head on his desk and closing his eyes, facing Sera.

Sera had a better view of his face and thought, 'Indeed,he was very handsome. Was it because of the sun ray entering the class?'

"Stop staring " James said with his eyes closed

"No, I'm not " Sera snapped, facing her books immediately.

James chuckled.

It was time for PHE class. Sera immediately rushed to the girls' changing room and changed into her sport clothes. She removed her glasses before wearing her contact lenses.

She in the only girl in the changing room, some other girls were already changing too.

After that, she and some other girls entered the PHE room and met all the boys shirtless, trying to wear their sport shirt.

"What the heck???" Sera screamed in her head.

However some girls that were in the room earlier were already drooling.

"Girl, you're late, you missed a lot of good things to see" the 1st girl said as she dragged her friend closer.

But Sera stretched her ear closer to listen.

"What happened to their changing room?" the 2nd girl asked.

"Their room is under renovation,so they are changing up here. Just look at James,he looks so breath taking, especially his abs" The 1st girl squealed.

Sera looked at James. He was shirtless, too, drinking water. The water dripped down from his mouth to his jaw,to his neck, and down his abs.

All the girls gasped while Sera immediately turned away with her red face, fanning herself with her hands.

"What the heck is wrong with me? No, nothing is wrong with me. It's because of James. He's just tormenting all the girls" Sera muttered to herself, still fanning her face.

"What are you girls doing? What happened the PHE teacher?" A boy asked and all the girl came back to their senses.

Sera turned back and all the boys were already wearing their shirts. Her eyes locked with that of James, and as usual, he smiled. Sera immediately looked away with a blushed face.

"The PHE teacher is on a sick leave but she told us to do Pigu(Korean dodgeball) and it is part of our assessment, so I am scoring everyone. You all know the rules,if a ball hits you, it is minus one but if you catch the ball,the thrower has minus one" The class representative said holding a book and a pen.

"So everyone grab a ball,it is boys vs girls" The class representative announced and everyone did so and stood at their spot,each other eyeing their target.

Sera was particularly staring at James and smirking, 'Today,he is going to see that she can't be underestimated cause she is basically perfect at everything'

"Start " The class representative announced and soon,balls could be seen flying on the air.

Sera kept on throwing balls but James was dodging it skillfully or rather nonchalantly and it was infuriating her. When James noticed that she was targeting him,he smirked and kept on dodging it. Soon,Sera threw a ball at James,but he caught it with one hand and threw it directly on her.

Sera couldn't dodge quickly and the ball hit her forehead, making it to swell up. She fell down screaming in pain

Everyone stopped playing and looked at her.James, who thought that she will dodge it, immediately ran up to her worried, carried her in bridal way, and rushed her to the school's infirmary.

SCHOOL INFIRMARY

Sera could be seen sitting facing James who was using the ice pack to massage her swollen forehead. Sera was very angry that it could be shown on her face as she stared at James.

"Stop looking at me that way, I was expecting you to dodge" James said focusing on what he was doing at hand.

"It doesn't matter, you're just so annoying" Sera snapped.

James couldn't help but chuckled.

"Just know that you aren't up to my league,even though I didn't dodge, I am very good in dodgeball" Sera said folding her arms.

"Windbag" James muttered but Sera could still hear him.

"Are you trying to say that all I say is empty words?" Sera asked angrily.

"Just a new nickname for you" James replied.

"Stop giving me stupid names" Sera said.

"I am much more better than you especially in terms of reading , test and exams" Sera continued.

"Ok" James just agreed.

Then he stared at her eyes.

"Are you wearing contact lenses?" James asked

"Yeah" She replied.

"Beautiful" James muttered but Sera could still hear it.

What she couldn't comprehend was if he was calling her beautiful or the contact lenses.

However she looked at him and remembered his shirtless body, her face turned crimson red.

"Thinking dirty??" James asked, smirking.

"Shut up" Sera snapped closing her eyes immediately. She was so embarrassed.

James just chuckled.

Kim Sera was there again in that empty street. But this time around,she could hear a voice echoing: " Don't go yet",it was his voice.

She started running towards that direction,she doesn't want to lose him AGAIN.
