Boy, have things been looking up for us lately! Carrington finally got his VA appointment and was able to sit down with a top-notch therapist and psychiatrist. On top of that, we decided to beef up our home security by welcoming in a furry new family member - Denali the trusty German Shepherd.
During his appointment, Carrington even mentioned how a dog might help with his PTSD, and wouldn't you know it, the VA had a Bernese Mountain Dog in training named SERE - short for Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape. But I had to remind him, fate has a funny way of catching up with us all. Now, we're one big happy family with two kiddos and not one, but two pups to love and protect. Life is good!
