Chapter five: Adventure

After a few hours on the bus and the boys playing games with a pack of cards they found. Jax and I talk about random things, we was getting to know each other and the time we spent at the 'ZD prison'.

"How did you find out about the abilities then?" I say wondering about how the war broke out, not remembering anything.

"Well before the war broke out 12 years ago I lived with my parents, I mean I was only 8. Everything was fine, we was happy. But one day I remember going to school with my sister who was only 7, she went to her classroom and I went to mine. A boy in my class looked ill very ill, so the teacher went up to him and asked if he was okay but the boy just sat there starring into space. she put a hand on his shoulder and he snapped, he grabbed her throat lifting her into the air and she went limb. He killed her" he pauses to take a breath.

"After that he went on a killing spree and as he tried to kill me he 'awakened' my abilities, along with other children who had the z gene, turns out the adults didn't have any and they just died. But a lot of the children did, we didn't know what to do but to follow this boy. We ended up hurting a lot of people and then the war broke out a year later" he looked sad like he regretted everything.

"And your sister?" I asked wondering what happened to her.

"I don't know what happened to her, my body was surging with so much power I didn't know what I was doing" he says looking down.

"Everyone regrets it, we couldn't handle it. no one knew what we was doing" i say trying to give him a little hope.

"But you don't remember it, you can forgive yourself because you think you didn't do a thing" he looks up at me

"Yeh I can't remember it, but from what I've been told I was worse than you and not knowing what I've done kills me, because I want to know the truth of what happened. It just feels like I was born yesterday, I don't know a thing" it was stressful not knowing, it was hard being told I killed my parents but that's only if Hart was telling me the truth. I need to find someone who can tell me everything from how the war started to how I ended up stuck in a prison. 

We just stayed quiet and the air became awkward until he spoke again.

"what happened to you? do you remember anything" he asks me filling the silence.

"No I don't remember a thing, Hart told me I was dangerous, I apparently killed my parents and my brother also had abilities but Hart killed him. That's all I know about my past".

"Oh, well we'll work out what happened to you but we need to find out your name first" Jax says laughing. 

"Yeh that would be a good idea" I laughed back at him

I suddenly feel tired and after having some small conversations with him, I fall asleep.

I feel a nudge on my shoulder and was awaken to a pair of knees. I sit up blushing, releasing i had fallen onto Jax's lap whilst I slept. 

"sorry" I mumble with him who was just smirking at me.

"I think where at the interchange" Hunter points out of the window, it was now pitch black and all you could see was a queue of busses waiting to park up. I rise up from my seat tapping Autumn on the shoulder who had gracefully fallen asleep with wolf on the chair next to her, aww.

She wakes up and stands at the front of the bus waiting for the us to catch her up. As the bus parks, the older women who had once sat at the front was no longer there, my guess they had got of at a stop hours ago. 

We get of the bus looking for the train timetable. It takes us a while to work out the times but we eventually find a help desk. on the desk there was a square digital clock "1:17am" wow we've been on the bus for a while. whilst Jax asks for help I ease drop into another conversation that a women was having with an old man, I recognised him. The old man who was on the same side of the desk as us had a piece of paper in his hand, I tried to work out what was on it but I couldn't see what was on it.

"A guard came on my bus earlier and gave me this, the women in the picture looks like the young women over there" he said nodding his head towards me, the women at the desk looked towards me and smiles, making me turn away. That's it, that old man was the man on the bus, oh no.

"okay one second sir" the women walks away heading the opposite direction.

"Eighteen?" Jax says snapping me out of my thoughts

"yes, sorry?" 

"The train to hull leaves in a couple of minutes we need to go get on it" Jax says, I look behind me seeing the women and the old man with a group of uniformed men who wore all black and had guns by their side.

"eh yeh" I answer Jax not concentrating on what he said.

With that the women points at us and the men storm towards us. 

"guys go, run" I shout pushing through a small crowd of people. A train must have just arrived. 

"what" Jax mumbles as I push him forwards, he soon realises what's going on.

We run as fast as we can with wolf running ahead of us, whistling sounds passes my ears as bullets fly past. The alarm then goes off making us run quicker. we quickly see the sign for Hull train which was starting to leave the platform. We run as fast as we could, jumping onto the train, I look back seeing the men trying to shoot at us but could no longer aim because of the moving train. My legs were still hanging out of the train  so I quickly scoot backward hitting my back on the carriage wall.

I stand up looking around to try and find the others. I walk forwards keeping my head down as there was others on the train. 

"Excuse me" I say to a women bent over a pram. 

'Oh I'm so sorry love' she says smiling at me. She had long brown hair with bright blue eyes. I look down at the baby who was all cosied up in a pink blanket. I smile back at her at walk past.

As I walk past all the seats on the train there was no where else to go apart from the other carriage, I open the door stepping on to the next one. This carriage was more 'posh' it had red lining floors and walls, it was like thin carpet. There was also small cabins either side of each other with a little walk way down the middle. I couldn't tell wether the others were in any of them. But then I noticed one cabin, the door had line of blue light underneath it, odd ? I slowly open the door seeing everyone squashed together on a cushioned bench with Hal, Hunter and autumn sat on the floor. I walk further in looking to the side to see what they were all staring at, it was a large square box with a screen.

"Sit down and watch tv with us" Aidan asks. I walk over sitting next to him. I stare at the tv trying to work out what was happening.

"I'm just going to the toilet" Autumn says standing up with wolf following closely behind her. I look over at Jax who was already looking at me, he quickly moves his head towards the screen. 

"Put the news on" he says to Hunter who had the remote in his hand. He turns the channel other and we all stare once again at the screen. 

'Emergency, Emergency' plays other the screen for a good 5 seconds. 

There was a man and women on the screen talking to us. '6 Children have escaped the Zd prison, ( a picture of us all come up on the side of the screen) if you have any information or the where abouts of them, please call the police immediately. Do not approach these kids they're highly dangerous and can cause serious harm." The man then continues "They were last seen boarding a train at Inverness train station" after a few moments of silence Jax speaks up.

"What are we going to do? People have seen our faces and I mean I have quite a unique face with my scar on it" he looks down hiding the scar away from us turning his head to the side.

"Jax, we'll be fine. Okay ? We've made it this far and once we get to Hull we will be safe" I say to him, he perks his head up looking at me and nods.

"And plus ... no one watches the news" I add on 

"Ew" Aidan screams "ahh" he repeats

"What is it" I says looking down to where Aidan was now sat, on the floor.

"Theres bugs everywhere" he shouts quickly running and jumping on the bench where Jax and I was sat. 

"Ah no get off me" Hunter says trying to repeat Aidan's actions by standing on the bench.

I quickly climb off the bench sliding open the door. With everyone following all onto the walkway of the carriage. I look into the cabin we was once sat in covered in bugs. They all poured out climbing everywhere on the walls, they wasn't just in our cabin but in other cabins. People started running out ran out of them.

A loud scream come across from the other carriage followed by a thump. 

"What was that?" Hal says confused

"It sounded like autumn" Jax said

I quickly run towards the scream pushing past people. I'm quickly confronted with Autumn laid on the floor unconscious whilst two men stand above her with a laser gun.

The man who I've never seen before holds the gun up facing my head

"Stay still or I'll shoot" he shouts, with that the others join behind me all eyeing the men dressed in black. Guards.

The two men all point guns at us whilst there leg hovers over Autumn. We all stand still waiting for the next move, out of no where the bugs start to crawl up the walls they are eventually above us on the ceiling. 

"What type of bugs are those" Hunter says

The bugs started to dramatically fall, they went all over the guards, they frantically started moving and shaking them off but they wasn't coming off. It suddenly got really dark in here. One of the guards fell on the floor he was gasping for air, the bugs had crawled into his throat. I quickly push the others back onto the other carriage as this was not PG for them.

Jax grabs Autumns arms and pulls her out with him. I stand there watching the guards getting eaten alive by these weird creatures, the guard that was on the ground previously was choking on the floor. He reached one hand out to me who was in the door way to the other carriage. I stood still I had no clue what to do. With that the guard stopped moving, lifeless. He was dead. 

The other guard was still panicking. 

"Help me" he screamed in agony, now I am mean but I ain't evil. I wonder what I could do to stop it, from what Hal told me I can basically do whatever I want with my abilities. 

So i put my palm out facing the spider like insects and slowly move them to the right of the carriage, I just feel like I look stupid doing this. I look at the guard who now had his fingers and patches of his skin all ripped off. I grab his neck lifting him of his feet sitting him on chair. 

As I walk back into the carriage the bugs disappeared going through the cracks of the carriage walls. Vanishing like nothing happened. I walk over to the guard who was screaming in pain. 

"Now, you're going to give Dr Hart a little message for me" I say staring into his eyes. I kind of liked having all this power and being able to control others.. it's fun.

He whimpers, "now your going to tell him to call off the search for us, or every time he sends someone to find us we will kill them and send their remains right back to him. We won't bother you unless you bother us, got it ?!" I say to him. 

"Now I suggest you better get running back home, okay ?" I say with a low voice.

"Yes, sorry, thank you" he mumbles looking down not knowing where to look. I grab him by the scruff of the neck once again, carrying out to where two carriages attach. I through him as far away from the train as possible seeing him tumble a number of times on the ground. The train was still moving. He'll be fine. I grab the lifeless body, soon throwing him out the train watching the body roll.

I walk back into the carriage seeing Jax starring back at me. "Well you didn't have to throw him out of the train".

I walk towards Jax dead eyeing him. "Every second we waste the bigger the chance one of us will be killed, now would you want to see Aidan or Hunter. Being killed ?" He looks down "I didn't think so".

I walk past him walking back into a random empty carriage, I sit down looking outside the window. It was dull daylight and the window reflected my face back to me. My eyes were black they only did that when I was using my powers. I sat and stared into my eyes watching them slowly change back to their original colour.

After a few moments my thoughts were interrupted, ugh you can never get your own space around here. 

A small frame walks through the door, Aidan walked in with his bright blue eyes and blonde hair. "Are you okay" he ask me with his calm small voice. 

"Yes I am, thank you. Are you ?" I reply back to him 

He walks over sitting next to me, I put an arm around his shoulder allowing him to cosy up to me. "Will you be my big sister? " I laugh at his response. 

"Why would you ask me that?" I ask him laughing at his innocence

"I just never had a family before, so you guys are my family now" for a little boy he does have some big thoughts.

"Okay, I'll be your big sister" he looks at me with joy and cuddles me tightly. I look down at him he was right, none of us have a family but this is all we've got and that was all we needed.
