"Hello, cutie kitten..." I stopped from walking when I saw a little cat hiding behind the trash bin. The kitten seems so frightened because of my presence. "Don't be afraid, I have foods here. You want some?" I was talking to the cat as if it understand me. I opened my bag bag and lend to the cat the excess food in my lunch box. I saw how the cute little kitten slowly walk towards me. I smiled when I saw that. "Here. It's for you." I put down my luch box so the kitten could eat it. I don't care if my lunch box would be dirty, I still can wash it though. What matters to me now, is that the cat can eat a food. I smiled when I saw the cat starts to eat the food in my lunch box. If only I could bring this cute cat in our house but I'm sure my mom would definitely scold me. She hates cat and my little sister has an asthma so I'm not really allowed to bring pet home. "Is that kitten is yours huh?" I'm shocked when i heard a man's voice behind. I look immediately turned my gaze besides me where the voice is coming from. I gulped when I saw a man standing behind me. He's staring at me as if I steal something from him. "No—" "Then why are you feeding it?" He cut me off. Why the hell is this man is mad!? I'm just feeding the cat because I want to, is it bad huh? "Seriously, what's wrong with you?" I asked him, wondering. "I didn't know that feeding cats is wrong now?" "Tsk, nevermind." He turned his back to me and starts to walk away. What's wrong with you man? What the hell. I shook my head and turn my gaze to the cat who is now done eating. Again, the kitten went back behind the trash bin where she/he was hiding earlier. I take my lunch box again and put in my bag. "I have to go little kitten, see you soon." I wave my hands to the kitten, then I continue walking. ***** "Mom, I'm home!" I opened the door and I saw my mother sitting in a couch. There are tons or papers in front of her while her other hands is in the calculator. "What are you doing?" I sat beside her and kiss her cheeks. "Computing the total bills, nak." She answered me without even glancing. "Change your clothes upstairs so that we can eat our dinner." She commanded me, I nodded and went to my room. I put down my bag on my study table and went to my closet to change my clothes. I wore my light pink terno pajamas before I went back to downstairs. Before I could finally went down, I saw my mother massaging the brige of her nose while holding the bills. I let out I deep sigh ang walk towards her. "Ma, I'm going out tomorrow." I sat beside her. She look at me, wondering, "why?" She asked me. "I'll try to find a job, ma, so that I can help you to pay our bills." I answered. I can't stand seeing my mother struggling to pay our bills. I know that her salary isn't enough to cover all our expenses. It's time for me to find my own way, I'm old enough to have a job. "No, I won't allow you." She said. "You should only paying attention to your studies. You should not thinking about money problem, I can handle it." She said in addition. "Ma, I want to help you. Besides, I promise you that I will still be mindful about my academics." She let out a deep sigh and look at me. "I'm sorry, anak. If only I —" "Stop thinking about the past, ma. Dad choose to leave, it's not your fault." I tried to comfort her. She hugged me and started crying on my shoulder. I could even feel her tears fell down my shoulder. "Stop crying, mama. Dad may leave you behind but still, you have me and Chantal. Kami, hindi ka namin iiwan." I told her. She loosen up from hugging me ang faced me. I smiled at her to assure her that I will never leave her like what dad did to us. It's been 10 years since dad left us but my mother is still affected. It's like ghost that keep on ghosting her. She's so emotional when it comes to dad because she loves her so much. It comes out that my father doesn't love her they way she do. Despite what happened to mama, I'm proud that she still manage to stand for us. She's the strongest and toughest lady I know. I'm so much proud of her. "Help me, Sunny, please. I really need a job. Can you offer me? I'll accept any job as long as it is legal and I won't harm anyone." I pleaded to Sunny, my closest friend. "Pretty please.." Sunny is currently working in an agency of house maids. She's my only friend so I think she's the only one can help me. She laughed hysterically as if I said something funny. I frown when I saw her reaction. Augh, this brat! "Any job?" She asked me, still smiling. I nodded as an answer. "Are you willing to be an house maid? We're only offering house maids here." She added, I nodded again. "I need money, so yes, I'm willing to become a house maid." I answered. I don't care if what job it is, it doesn't matter to me now. As long as it is decent, I'll go with it. "You're too pretty to be a house maid, bess. I'll offer you something else." She simply said, "wait me in the that café." She pointed out the small café near this building. "Wait, why? Can we just talk here?" I asked her. She shake her her. "This one doesn't belong to the agency where I'm working." "What!? What do you mean, huh?" I frown. "Let's just talk later after I'm done with my work." She said and continue moving some of the papers in front of her. I rolled my eyes, "fine!" I went out to this building and went to the café she's pertaining. I order my coffee and sit to the vacant table near the wide glass window. I've been waiting for almost thirty minutes here but still Sunny is not here. I tried to call her but her line si busy so I never bothered to call her again. "Mecca, my loveee!" My eyes wide because of shock when someone just sream my name out of nowhere. What the f**k!? I survey the whole café and there, I saw Sunny walking towards me with a wide smile. She sat beside me and I frown. "Move away, sit there!" I pointed out the chair in front of me. "No, someone will sit there." She answered. "Who's someone?" I curiously asked. She move her gazed to the sliding door and my eyes widen when I saw a man came in and walk towards us. "Mr. Montero!" Sunny shouted as she waved her hands in the air. The man continue walking and finally he arrived in front of us. He throw me a cold stare and then he sit in the chair in front of us. I can't deny that he's handsome but there's something in her eyes. It's too cold for me. His stares are too cold. "Coffee, Mr. Montero?" I was shocked when Sunny offered him the coffee I ordered. I look at Sunny ang glared her but she just smiled at me ang winked. "No thanks, I don't drink coffee." The man simply answered. "I'm here to fetch my new personal assistant." He glanced at me. My eyes widen because of what he just said. What!? Does it mean that— wait. I come closer to Sunny to wispher her something. "Is this the jobe your refering, huh!?" The stupid girl just smirked at me ang slowly nodded. "Your too pretty to be a house maid, bes." She whispered back, "you deserve to be his personal assistant!"
