Nick's P.O.V
The twins left a while ago but I want to thank them. I was harsh on them because they were bigger, better and faster than me. I hated them because I wasn't the best anymore. I stressed out and wanted them gone. I realised too late that they were doing us a huge favour and were helping us. They made our pack bigger and almost immediately stronger. They killed rivals and attackers. They take rouges in and handle them well so they won't become hostile. They do us a lot of favours without me thanking them. I decided, since the pack was doing way better than before, to go after them and thank them. I searched the area and caught unknown scents. The twins could hide there scent but their rouges couldn't. I ran towards it and entered the base they had set up. Wolves were growling at me and shifting. I noticed the twins weren't there. I shifted. "I am looking for the twins. I wanted to thank them." I said. A boy came from the forest with a little boy at his side. "They left a while ago." He said. He was seventeen, maybe eighteen. He had black hair and a tattoo on his back and neck. "Where are they?" I asked hopeful. "We don't know. They are searching for someone but they don't know where that someone is. They can be anywhere." He said. The little boy was pulling his shorts and he lifted him up. "Why would you want to say thank you anyways?" He asked. "They killed Colin for me and now Colin's son and I are allies. All thanks to them." I said happy. "I will tell them when they're back." He said turning around. "When are they back." I asked. "I don't know. They are looking for someone. They could be lucky an find him in half a year or it can take two years. We. Don't. Know." He said turning around quickly. He wasn't really happy with my visit. "Why so hostile?" I asked. "Because you are 'alpha Nick'" He said mocking the alpha Nick part. I sighed. "Why because I'm me." I asked. "You tried to kill the twins. Then you called the king on them because you don't like them. You are lucky only I hate you in this group. They don't think you are bad so you are still alive. You blame everything on others, always." He said almost yelling. The little boy hugged him and he calmed down a bit. "I admit, the King was my fault. I admit, I shouldn't have blamed my fathers death on the twins." I said. "You admit, but way too late." He said still mad. Then Marcel showed up. "Calm down Luca. Don't yell." He said and the boy, Luca, calmed down. More and more familiar faces showed up because now Oliver and Ruth appeared. The little boy jumped out of Luca's arms and ran towards them. Ruth caught him and lifted him up. "Hi there Alex." She said kissing his cheek. I smiled but then turned to Marcel. "Why does he hate me?" I asked pointing at Luca. He got mad and jumped towards me. "LUCA!!" Oliver yelled and he stopped. "Why does everyone always have to stop me." He sighed and walked back. Oliver stood next to him now. "Yes, yes Luca. We know. Entitled brat this. Rich b***h that. I heard he was only here to say thank you to the twins." Oliver turned to me and I nodded. "As you already know, they aren't here." He said and he pulled Luca with him, away from me. Ruth walked towards me. "I think it's best to leave. Luca has some anger issues and his anger towards you is big." She said turning me around and pushing me away. I shifted and ran back home, that was weird and scary.
The research still isn't finished. My mother's nightmares keep coming back and the whole pack suffers from her sleep deprivation. She feels horrible and we let doctors and therapists come to check her. They try to figure out how she has nightmares about what happened without being there and how to get rid of them. We know the things she sees every night were the real events that took place. The twins clarified that her dreams were what truly happened. She is constantly crying and her conditions aren't getting better. Not too long ago, I would have blamed the twins, but not anymore. Forgiveness for their actions with my father has to be given. If not, they could easily take me down so I don't know what I was thinking. We found our pack bookworms and asked them to read all books that could help on our research about my mother's sleepless nights and the cause of the twins to be so big, strong and fast. One found a legend about werewolves where werewolves were described as wolves towering over humans. It is true that some did but it was a legend from the 18th century and that was just what people thought. The people back then were also smaller than now so part of it could be true. We also found something about witches giving people a potion to relive certain memories, but that wasn't it either because 1, witches are superstition and 2, the memories aren't her memories. It was all a mystery. I read a lot too. Things I never knew were believed to be true. I read about a dragon which lives under the ground and creates volcano eruptions. I read about a crystal which gives you sight in the possible future, about a village filled with angels, demons coming to earth, magic being real and we even had some kind of spell book which I first thought was just an ordinary cookbook but as I read it gave me a way different impression. I let the books get counted and handed every pack member one to read, the ones that liked reading could get one any time they wanted. We first put all the books in a room with a table blocking everyone out and to put the books on. One or two wolves would stand or sit there and hand books to anyone who wanted them. We then did the same at the empty library and ever book that gets handed in gets placed back carefully by the keeper of the library. After some time half the library was filled again and we started to lose hope to find anything at all, until...
I was walking through the library to see what the pack read and what we just put in the library straight away. We didn't need them to read romances if it wasn't a legend. I suddenly heard someone run towards the library. When I looked who it was I saw Nataly, the pack's biggest bookworm. I hoped she would find something in all those books she read, this was her fifteenth book and she thought she found something. "Look." She said laying the book on the table and pointing at a text. "Mates are always together, no matter how far away they physically are. If a mate thinks it is dying, it can let it's mate know. This can only be showed to the mate when it closes it's eyes and let's it's thought take over. This is a rare event but happens more often than people think. Some think it is just a dream because this phenomenon can accidentally be activated and it will just be another dream about your mate." I read out loud. "This is amazing, now we at least know it is already discovered. Now we just got to figure out how to stop it." I told her happy. "I'm happy to help." She said smiling. She always wanted to do the good things and wanted to turn people good. She has an insane empathy because she reads so much and it makes her a pleasant person to be around with in the pack. I tell all the new wolves that if you need someone to talk to, go to her. I jumped/slit over the table to take the book to my mother.
