“I am OK, godfather.” Carl jokes.

“No BS between us, remember?” I cautiously scold him. “Whatever is weighing on your mind, you need to let it out.”
“It. It’s just the game next week. I am worried.”
I scoff and shake my head.
“The game? I saw you at practice yesterday and I talked with your coach! You are more than ready!”
“When did you talk to coach Jim?” He asks, surprised.
“When you were changing in the locker room.” I answer, displeased with his question. “What do you think I do when I come to your practice session? Why do you think I attended your practice session yesterday?”
He shrugs his shoulders and pretends to search for something in the pile of clutter on his desk.
