//Chapter 52//

Nobody said anything. As much as I wanted to stay, I knew that I was needed at the military base. I was days behind our training, and I did not know even if that scholar would be able to resist that much of me after neglecting practicing for days. And we had to distribute the stones all over the Elkelyn before Rawen attacks on Yorosso. Speaking of which- "Okay, we will get going then." I said. "Remember to always wear these stones, no matter where you are and what you are doing. Value and save your mind, for they don't seek to just mess with it. They will destroy your mind before you even know it." Everybody nodded at me. I turned to Darav. "By the way, how are the situations with attacks?" His face turned grim. "Only this part of Sermeth is fine. The other part has turned to a wasteland. All the soldiers who went to defend the area and the citizens who manage to live through previous attacks are either insane or dead." He gulped, as if imagining the scenerio. "Houses, farms and all the constructions are destroyed. The king issued the order to save lucid people and kill the rest, to save resources start building the city anew." All of our expressions were grim. I knew Droumer was a just king and he loved his citizens. Everytime he issued these orders to kill his own, that must be taking a toll on him. Being a king always came with horrible consequences. My father had to watch his people turn in to slaves in secret. One of my ancestors had to drive out his own people because they started drinking blood. People who lost their loved once would always hate the king for issuing the order. And people who died would hate the king for taking their life. Choices of a king always attracted hatred anda king was always alone, regardless of how many followers he had. If this was past, I would have blamed myself for all these. But Kahlee was right. In order to protect two kingdoms, I had to step up. I could not dwell in despair anymore. "When was it?" Resh asked, disturbing mu thoughts. "Two days ago." Darav said. "There is nobody living in attacked areas now." "What about Yorosso?" Savin asked. "Yorosso?" Darav repeated. "Yorosso is fine. Why are you guys worried about it? The next place most likely to get attacked is either this part of Sermeth or Leven. Since they didn't touch this part in their attacks, I guess they would not attack this area. But Leven is out of options. Do you remember the last time? First, it was Sermeth and then it was Leven and it stopped in Yorosso. This time, I think it will be the same." "Uh huh." I said. I did not want to tell him about my vision dreams. "Let's get going, then. We still have some time left to stop another mass destruction." "Is someone going to attack?" Darav asked, looking back and forth between us. "You just focus on distributing the stones." Resh said. "For some reason, this area is safe for now, but we can't say for how long will that last. And with the stones, your minds will be protected and you will have the will and a way to fight. That is more than we ever had." I noticed his silence about the spy and the way we got the information. I knew we could not trust any of these people with this information. In fact, Darav and his father was the root of some suspicion. Why did the spy wanted this area unscathed? The reason could be because they owned it. Darav nodded, still looking a little puzzled. There was nothing we could do about that till we found out about the spy. "If you have more than you need," Resh said, pointing to the sack. "Bring them back to the palace. Some might need it." "Thank you, your highness." He bowed to him this time in deep gratitude. I smiled. We just offered these people a chance to protect their minds. I noticed Ange looking at us by poking her head from a room. I smiled at her. She returned it before disappearing to the room once again. "By the way," I said, turning to Darav. "If the healer comes, tell him that there is no poison. I couldn't collect any. When I killed them all, they just melted in to the ground." "You killed them all?" Darav repeated. His face was turning pale again. I shrugged. "They deserved it." Savin and Resh smiled at the floor. Kylan smiled at me in gratitude. They all had their different reasons for smiling. And I didn't want Kylan to know why I killed them. If he knew that I had actually spared them by killing them, that would make him get angry again. He may hold a grudge against me as well. Although I did not mind that, he was still young and I did not want to pollute his mind with negative emotions. One day, when he is mature enough to know the consequences, I would tell him. "What should we do now?" Zone asked. I looked at him. I didn't even see him coming out or sitting down. He would make a decent spy as well, but I did not doubt him. "We should go different ways." Relach said. "Sermeth is covered now. Darav can take care of that. Zone, you should go to capital and give away the stones. Remember, size doesn't matter in this case, so break them into small pieces as much as you want." Zone nodded. "Me and Nasha will go to Yorosso." Resh said. We have to place our soldiers on the fort and equip them with stones. Zone, send the massage to his majesty to send more soldiers to Yorosso." "Relach, can you cover Leven?" Savin asked. Relach nodded. "I was just thinking the same. And also Plycin." "Okay, then, I will cover Ehmoth and Reoz." Savin said. Resh spoke. "Okay, let's set out. Rawen probably knows about the stone thievery by now. Nobody knows when the doom be released upon us. By tomorrow evening, everybody in Elkelyn should have a stone." We all nodded. "Darav, bring us your fastest animals, please." I said, flashing a gold coin. Darav grinned. "Right away, your highness."
