//Chapter 63//

Plycin was not like any other parts of Elkelyn. Sometimes I could not take my eyes off the buildings. This part of the was all about science and technology. Elkelyns valued their traditions more than tachnology like Elves, but Plycin was different. This looked like mortal realm, but ten times better. There was electricity, for one thing. Rawen and other parts of Elkelyn did not care about that. We used old fashioned fire for lights. Sometimes Elves used fireflies in lamps for late at night studies and libraries. I guessed same went for Elkelyns. I was so used to the electricity in mortal realm that it felt really odd when I first came to Elkelyn. When I first started my exiled days, the fact that we could get a light bright enough to lit up a room just by pushing a button amazed me. I had heard of it before, but I never knew it was that easy. Now that I was in prison for two years with only sunlight and got used to fire after being rescued, electricity was weird. I realized that I was staring at outside with big eyes. I could not help it. Some buildings were tall while some were circular. There was even a building shaped as a cylinder. People went everywhere with flying vehicles but there was roads to walk and ride carriages or animals. I felt really odd riding a carriage here. There was no other people on the ground. But I could feel them staring at our carriage from buildings. Resh looked at Bran. He was also looking everywhere like me. "Haven't you've been here before?" He asked. "I have." Bran replied his eyes unfocused. "I can hear sounds. This place is noisy. I was trying to see if I could hear Relach's voice or footsteps." Resh looked at him for a moment. I felt like a third wheel. No. I was a third wheel. I stared at them, wide eyed as Resh reached out and blocked Bran's ears with his hands. I blushed for no reason. I started to caugh, trying to hide my blushing face. I was not even the one who was experiencing this romance, but, oh ancestors, they looked so cute together. Resh was glaring daggers at me. I just shrugged. I could not wait till I talked to Savin about this. Bran looked like he was directly hit by the electricity running around the city. He was blushing even harder than me. I could swear I saw some smoke coming out his ears, but I could not be sure because, well, they were covered by Resh's hands. Damn. Talk about romance. I didn't know Resh was just like Savin when it came to these situations. I wanted to escape from this awkward situation. Yep. If I had my doubts before, I was certain now. I was defenitely third wheeling here. "Try to concentrate." Resh said to Bran. "See if you can filter his voice. Now that I had muffled the sounds, it shouldn't be that hard." I blinked. Was that even logical? I also sent out my magic in various directions. If Savin could sense it, I was sure that he could find me just like before. I still had no idea how he did it. "I can hear him!" Suddenly, Bran said, snapping me from my thoughts. His voice was so cheerful. I stared at them in disbelief. So that ear covering thing actually worked? "Where is he?" I asked. "See, that worked well." Resh said at the same time. "Tell me his location." Well. Now I was not just third wheeling. I was invisible. My voice was inaudiable. I rolled my eyes. Just how fast could a person fall in love? I felt like I was an alien, pushed into an unfamiliar planet. All the fancy technological things didn't suit my style. As I watched, a circular skyship went past us, leaving a thread of white smoke behind, which dissolved in to air in mere seconds. It was fascinating. I wanted to ride on that ship. I was mad at Resh for a long time, but the city had calmed me a bit. Then, I felt sorry for Resh. He must have felt like this when I was with Savin. I did not want to admit it, but I really missed him right now. "In that building." Bran said, pointing towards a black shining building. I stared at it. What is with Elkelyn and it's lack of color? Most of the buildings here were either completely black or metallic gray in color. I wondered how it looked at night. Was everything pitch black? No. I forgot the artificial lights. "So what now?" I asked. "Do we park the carriage there and go inside?" "Don't be ridiculous. We need a disguise." Resh said, still covering Bran's ears. "We can't let anyone know that royalty is here. Usually, we'd have to notify them prior our visits and since we didn't, we need a disguises." "Why?" I asked. "And where can we get them?" "As for why, it's because we honour our traditions and they don't. They like to mingle with mortals and seek their knowledge. Thus, there are disagreements." He said. "As for where to get the disguises, I have these." He took out some brooches from inner pockets. I recognized them. Red for a soldier and green for a healer. "You can be the healer and we can be your guarding soldiers." I did not question why he was carrying them with him. "Won't they recognize you?" I asked. "You are the Crown Prince." "I hadn't been here in a long time. Plus, we are going with new names." "Names?" I repeated. "Bran will be Bran. I will be Carr, Aarr's brother. You will be Crina, Trina's sister." "We don't know their other names." I protested. "That would be suspicious." "No. Once we get our visitor's passes, we can go anywhere. And they only ask for the first name because most Elkelyn's come here for various needs. This whole place is an experimental thing. This city is funded by Unnel." I stared at him again in disbelief. "And you think those names would actually work. And Unnel could be here." "No, he had business in Capital." Resh said. "As for the names-" "I think it is a good idea." Bran said. "Sometimes, simple is the best." Resh smiled a rare smile at that. - We had given our hiruta to a place where they looked after carriages and vehicles. Resh confidently gave them the hiruta so I did not question him on it. Then we got our visitor's pass. They asked for our name and profession. Thus, I became Crina The Healer. I tried not to think about what would happen if they actually asked me to heal someone and I fail. A tour guide was assigned to us. I knew she would not bring us to the building we wanted right now. There was a little insfi stone in her hand. I smiled a little. Savin had been in here.
