I was sitting on the throne of Rawen.
Everything was happening alright. I was satisfied. My obstacles were already gone. My kingdom was thriving. My son was healthy and my wife obeyed me in everything I said, fulfilling all my needs. There was no body to challenge me anymore.
I was in peace, after all this time. It was boring.
Someone came to the throne room. I straightened up. It was Nave. "Your Majesty, there is something you have to know."
He started without even kneeling. He was sweating too. I could tell it was some bad news. "What?" I asked, not gentle at all.
"Do you remember the princess?"
"Princess? You mean Nasha? Of course I do." I said. "Too bad she is dead. Things would not be so boring if she was around. It was hard to kill her, but that was necessary for my plans." I looked up at the ceiling. "Such fun old times. What about her?" I asked, seeing Nave goes pale the more I talked.
"Well," His hands were fidgeting, "the thing is-"
"Spit it out." I leaned in. "I'm running out of patience." He still looked so nervous, so I reached out to his head. I must talk right now.
"The princess is alive." Nave said. "And she has somehow vanished from the prison."
"What?!" I stood up. This changed everything. All I could build up could destroy in a moment. "I gave you one job." I lashed out. "How can that wench be still alive?!"
"Well, all the ministers decided to save her incase something happened to you. There plan was to change her mind and place her on the throne. So I- we put her in the Eternal Prison. Today, when we checked, she had disappeared without a trace."
"So, to summarize that, you planned to kill me too if I wasn't up to fill your wallets. Then to continue the throne, you put my greatest obstacle in a prison." I laughed. "I can't believe she was living under me all this time."
"What should we do now?" Nave asked.
"Well, aside from the fact that you didn't kill her when I told you to," I said, "all I have to say is, if you ever see her, just kill her again."
"We think she might come to see you, your majesty." Nave said. "She still doesn't know it was your plan or that you hates her. She still think you are her best friend."
"It would be so easy, then." I said. "I can't wait."
-
I woke up because I felt my face was resting on a puddle of water. When I searched for what that was, I realised that it was my tears. The pillow hugging was also stained. I had cried in my sleep.
It took me a little while to process all that. The floor being smooth or the fact that I had a pillow to hug reminded me that I was actually not on my cell.
I sat down on the floor. That dream had to be false. Yeah.
For the past two years, I've been thinking about the dream I had the day before I was imprisoned. It was about the day Resh attacked me and Daniel. In that dream, I was not watching it from a third point of view. I was actually Resh.
This dream also felt like that. I think I was Daniel. I was not sure about that. There was nothing to see my reflection.
There was only one way to prove if these dreams were real events I somehow managed to see.
I sat up and drank some water before going out. I had to find Resh and Savin.
-
I sat on the bed with Savin. There was an awkward silence between us. I wanted to talk to him like we used to, but the way he carried me over to here kept going through my head, somehow making this all awkward.
I had just used some magic and as if he was waiting for me to do that, Savin was there in seconds. It was just pass the middle of the night. My habit of waking up at night to talk to Revenen was still ongoing, it seems.
When I had said I wanted to talk in private, he had taken me to the palace. He had a room there, which was simple yet effective, acoording to him. The lamp was dimmed so nobody would notice the light through the glass lights. Elkelyn palace was exactly what I remembered.
Savin sent a massage to Resh via a massenger he found outside. I waited with Savin and mentally cursed at my brother. What was taking him so long?
Savin seemed to be waiting for me to speak. I decided to break the silence, after all. "Um, hey, thanks for carrying me." I said.
He looked surprised. "Sure, no problem."
Then the awkward silence began again. There was so much to talk with him. Why can't I find a single word when I need them the most?
After thinking for a while, I asked. "Why did you save me?"
He chuckled to himself. "Resh was a pain in the ass. You are blood bound to me, so I felt responsible."
I felt disappointed for some reason. Is that all?
As if he read my mind, he peered into my eyes. "Also, I wanted to see you again."
I blinked at him. My disappointed heart was now beating hard in my chest as if it suddenly got wings so it's going to jump out of my chest.
I cursed at Resh again. Where was he?
"I can't believe you dug a tunnel to Rawen's heart." I said. "I was directly under the castle. There were three hundred more cells there. That was a great risk."
"Still, I did it." He said. "You know, I can control my maze. I simply combined my powers with Zone. The little block he removed from earth covered great distances. When I said you were under some huge building, Resh immeadietly figured it was The Eternal Prison. Then I just had to close my eyes and focus on where your magic was leaking from."
"Oh." I said. My magic was leaking? When there were that much insfi stones surrounding me? Does that mean there were ways to push past insfi stones? That was interesting.
The door opened and Resh walked in. "What did you want to talk about in the middle of the night?" Ha asked, standing beside me.
I frowned at him. " What took you so long?"
"In case you didn't notice, it's an hour past midnight." He pointed at his eyes for more dramatic look. "I was sleeping like a normal person."
Well, I could not argue with him about that.
