For the last few months things have been quite challenging. I voiced my opinion to my boss and unfortunately that resulted in wrongful termination no one deserves to be fired for sticking up for themselves after being called property. This is ultimately what the world has come to. Valery sat at her computer staring at the screen in front of her as she wrote a business email to her mother. Too much pride surfaced Valery and no way was she ever going to inform her mother of all people that she was terminated because she was too strong willed. Valery deleted everything she wrote and instead of responding to the email her mother previously sent her. She closed her laptop and decided to leave it for another day. Getting up from her desk in her room she decided it was time for a breathe of fresh air and coffee. Grabbing her coat she made her way to her front door sliding her keys and purse off the hook and exiting her small run down apartment.  "Another day another dollar!" She heard Steven the barista say behind the counter as she walked in. With a smile on his face he motioned her to hurry up to the counter. "Not today Steve." She responded with a small smile and a dull voice. "What happened my love?" He asked as he went back to making her usual. "Fired."  Steven turned to look at her with a no s**t look. "Why?" He asked returning to finishing her cappuccino then bringing it to her. Bringing it up to her lips and smiling as the delicious taste slowly made it's way down her throat cascading her in warmth. Looking back at Steven she responded. "I was just a number to them." She said with depression lacing her words. "My boss called me property, after all the hard work I invested into them I was looking for some form of recognition and instead I get pulled into an office with all my employees. Belittled by the H.R and his supervisor. They fired me saying I didn't follow proper procedures and I made the work place hostile. Me!" Steven snickered at her pointing to herself. "You and I both know they lost someone really good. What comes around goes around." Steven said with a shrug. "Yeah, Well now I can't even find a job. They are sitting here and saying that I am mentally unstable and a bully." She whispered. The fight left her not even an hour after that meeting but that didn't mean she wasn't hurt. All she wanted to do was make a difference and working for those who couldn't help themselves it was her dream and life. A dream she is thinking about tossing it to the side and calling it a day. Valery looked back up at Steven with a thought playing on her mind. "Hey you guys wouldn't happen to be hiring here would you?" She said with hope in her voice. "Unfortunately no my love." Responded with a regretful face. "Check those newspapers over there and see if there is any hiring around here that won't listen to your other job. And by the way V f**k them. They have nothing better to do than pick on people younger than them anyway. Jealousy is a real bitch." "It sure is. Thanks Steve." She heard him snicker as she grab her coffee finding the table with the newspaper she sat down staring at it hoping for a chance.  About 20 minutes passed as she sat there saying possibly to one after the next. When the door to the coffee shop burst open sending in a tall muscular man who seemed frantic on the phone. Typically she wouldn't listen in but she couldn't help but try to figure what had his salad so tossed. "Yes sir." "Sir I know we need someone." "Sir...." "No one is qualified everyone you sent me is simply someone you already slept with. Or someone with no experience just trying to sleep with you." There was a pause and the tension built. "Today. It will be done." "Yes...sir." With that he hung up the phone. Franticly looking at the coffee menu as he started to give Steven the order. Valery mustering all her courage she stood up and walked to the frantic man. I mean honestly what did she have to lose anyway. She lightly tapped on his shoulder and he spun to face her with a glare in his eyes. "I..I over heard you were in need of someone.... I assume someone for a job... I hope it's not to forward to ask but what is the position you are looking to fill?" She asked with as mush strength as she could. He smiled at her and then spoke. "A Personal Assistant." He responded hopeful. She smiled back.' "Well I believe I am completely qualified to do that job. My last job I was a jack of all Trades. P.A/secretary/office manager so on and so forth. I can email you my resume if you would like?" She stated rocking back and forth on her shoes hopeful for a chance. "What's your name?" He asked. "Valery Hartman." He looked down at his phone and back up to her after a few moments. She stood there silent patently waiting. "Okay Valery, How soon can you start?"  Without thinking she responded. "Right now if need be."  "Good follow me." He said as he took the coffee from Steven and walking to exit the café . She was not expecting that but yet she was hot on his heels following him out the door to a black suv parked outside. At this point she should have asked more questions should have turned away. But the thoughts of dying from hunger or getting shot quick sounded much better than starving. Hoping into the front seat beside him after getting the okay. She buckled her seatbelt and stared out the window. "May I ask who I will be working for?" "Mr. Morelli." "What will I be doing?" "Your his P.A anything he asks." He then slightly turned in his seat to talk more as well drive. "You will do anything he asks no if ands or butts unless you want your head on a platter served to your family. Do you understand?" He asked in an intimidating tone. "Yes." "You will call him sir. Do not look him in the eyes unless told to. Do not do anything your told not to and you will be at his beck and call. Lastly you will be living with him." She nearly spit out the coffee she just had in her mouth, "Excuse me?"  "You heard me I will not repeat myself. I am only trying to help you. Also if you see anything you say nothing or like I said head on a platter." Valery sat back breathing in a deep breathe how her life just switched so quick. "How much will I be paid?" "30 and hour under the table." She nodded to this as she then continued to look out the window. What seemed like hours by the time they arrived at their destination. Valery stared at the scene in front of her as she slowly got out the vehicle. Her mouth a gab. The place was huge long sidewalks leading to the front door the mansion. God the place was beautiful and she was going to live there. Oh my God she was not a gold digger but s**t she would mine any day for a place like this. "Come." The man said to her as she stood staring. Valery followed him into the mansion if she thought the outside was beautiful it barley compared to the inside white gold and black stood everywhere. Tall ceilings equaled tall windows. Meant Valery felt like an ant in a human house. She continued to follow the man to a door. He knocked three times then upon hearing the words enter they both entered. The room seemed polar opposite of the whole house where that was bright this was dark and gloomy. "This is Valery, your new personal assistant sir." The man said causing Valery to look up at the man who had his back turned all this time only to know turn around meeting his dark brown eyes with her bright blue eyes. The man was built with broad shoulders and muscles that seemed to want to pop out of the suit he was wearing. Dark brown hair with a chiseled perfect face. He smiled at her noticing she was staring she cast her eyes to the ground. This time Mr. Morelli spoke up as he made his way around his desk closer to her. Grabbing her chin in his hand causing her to look at him in the eyes. His eyes smiled and so did his lips but it didn't look friendly it looked dark and torturous. "This is going to be fun." He whispered.
