“No I can’t!.” Kendrick snapped as he stood manly before his mother at the bottom of the stairs. “I’m not a kid for you to decide for me mom....”He added disappointedly. “Listen Kendrick.....you will marry Lily and that’s final!”Mrs Alicia stated,keeping low her impatience. “Oh really??..Kendrick interjected with a narrowed eyes. “And who will make me huh...you mother I hope not.”Kendrick said straight to her face. For a moment Mrs Alicia kept silence,looking at his face and trying her best not to explode. “I’m so disappointed in you mom...For crying out loud....I’m your only son and if you want my happiness...you wouldn’t want me to marry someone that I don’t have any feelings for...and above all....a busy body..no way...that’s not gonna happen.”Kendrick spoke while his mom listened annoyingly. “Happiness?..did you say happiness Kendrick?”Mrs Alicia questioned rhetorically.”If l am being understanding here you ain’t trying to mean that..those skinny thighs you takes to expensive hotels...wasting your time and money on is call happiness?...I hope you don’t mean it this way?”Mrs Alicia asked gazing him with a sorry expression. “What huh?”Kendrick shot as his eyes caught his mom’s sorry expression and this time Mrs Alicia exposed her intolerance. “You know what Kendrick...you’re going to marry Lily and that’s it!”Mrs Alicia said with a serious flat look. “You’ve said that twice now mom...I’m already getting tired of hearing it.” Kendrick said rudely and Mrs Alicia grew angrier. “You think this is a request huh...well this was your grandpa and dad’s last wish boy and you will fulfill it.” “ Wish??...I knew it...cause I couldn’t understand the reason why you announced this proposal...now I do.” Kendrick said with a nod. “You want to fulfill the wishes of the dead mom but no you choose the wrong person...as much as I respect and honor them...I still won’t do it.” Kendrick whispered lastly into her face. “Well...let’s see about this...let’s see if you can refuse your grandma.” Mrs Alicia said cunningly. “Mom...Kendrick almost lashed out but retreated. “You want to use grandma now huh...ain’t you ashamed mom.”Kendrick shot. “Respect me Kendrick....I’m your mom!” Mrs Alicia flushed with annoyance. “I should...” “Kendrick!”Grandma shot at the head of the stairs. It seemed she had been there all that while. She looked down at Kendrick with a displeased look. “How dare you talk to your mom like this...who taught you this?...I don’t believe I did.” Grandma spoke critically. Kendrick shifted his gaze from her to the floor embarrassingly. “Look me in the eyes boy.” Grandma ordered in little calmed tone.Kendrick looked obediently but slowly up at her face. “ It’s disrespectful to talk to your mom like this...what should you do now huh?” Asked grandma. “Apologies.” Muttered Kendrick in a childish manner. “Now apologize.” Ordered Grandma. But Kendrick hesitate for a while before he spoke. “I’m sorry Mom.” He said apologetically but quickly spoke like usual. “But grandma... how can I marry that girl huh?...I mean...she isn’t my kind of girl and ...and what would my fans say?” Kendrick asked obviously worried about what his fans would say. “You worried about what your fans would say?...Grandma questioned. “Have you thought about us huh?....You’re the youngest in this family so we know what’s best for you Kendrick.” Grandma said and headed down the stairs to them. When she reached him she spoke with a pleading tone. “Kendrick my boy.”She laid a hand on his shoulder. “I’m not growing younger my boy and...you know my health keeps relapsing day after day... it’s time for you to take over the administration of the companies...” Grandma walked to the nearest couch at the hall and then relaxing down on it,continued to speak. “Well...we all saw you grown up....for me specifically..I raised you myself because you’re the only heir and I thought you would follow my path and focus on the company...but you chose a different path...going into music...”Grandma paused and laughed looking skyward as though the memories laid up there. “ what could I do but to support you.. though I didn’t approve of it but you made it and I’m proud of you...but I can’t continue any longer...you’re going to take over soon and since you don’t know much about business I chose Lily for you.” Grandma disclosed and Kendrick stared at her widely and doubtfully. As if grandma had read his expression already she nodded slightly. “Yes I did...I chose her....and not your grandpa....he just agreed.” She added and then both he and his mother shockingly gazed at Grandma.
